Product Description:

Sometimes, you find an application that you really, really like, but when you run it, the icon takes up valuable space in your Dock. With Dock Dodger, you can rid almost any application of its Dock icon, giving you your Dock back.

With Dock Doger, removing the Dock icon is as easy as Drag and Drop. Simply drag in the application you want to Un-Dock and Dock Dodger takes care of the rest. When you re-launch that application, it will be sans Dock icon. Want the Dock icon back? Just re-drag the application into Dock Dodger and everything's back to normal.

Please note that un-Docking an app can cause unusual behaviors or restrict access to certain features. See the Dock Dodger website for more details.

Dock Dodger ReviewGreat app - Version: 0.1, 7/8/2008 10:55AM PST

Used it on my G4, worked exactly like it should.
Tested it now on my new Macbook Pro and it worked great now too. No problems at all. Just drag, drop, enter password and restart the app.

Sorry, but for now I'll stick to the ageing "Dockless" because I don't want to unnecessarily (I'm using a PPC Mac) have to change my AppleScript apps to app bundles. (Your wording, "…is not an app", needs changing). Other details from my 2-minute testing:
I suggest you make your app a "droplet", i.e. drop the app to be (de/re-)docked onto your app's icon rather than having to launch your app.
I'm not convinced that an authentication (presumably to use sudo) should be needed, but if so then at least save the user a click by setting the focus to the password entry box.
Your bottom text area needs an extra line.
I don't like unneeded Console.log entries. Couldn't you send output to the 'deep black hole' at /dev/null?

I hope you don't think I'm being too arrogant. A bit more work and I might download and keep a future version.
