Product Description:

Seatubes makes it easy to batch download YouTube videos to your Mac. Simply drag YouTube URLs into a documents list view, then click the "Download" button. If a URL is a video URL it will be added, otherwise Seatubes will try to add all of the video URLs it contains, i.e. import the URL.

Seatubes is a multi-window (or multi-document) application. You can associate different windows with independent collections of videos, and save them to disk as Seatubes documents for future use.

Seatubes can convert (export) downloaded FLV files into any format supported by QuickTime, such as iPod or iPhone. To do this, or to view FLV files on your Mac, you need to install the Perian Quicktime components (http://perian.org/)

Seatubes is part of the Limit Point Software Utilities Bundle : http://www.limit-point.com/Utilities.html. Purchase a Utilities password to activate all the utilities, including Seatubes. Upgrades are always free, new utilities are always included!

Seatubes initially runs in demo mode for about ten days.

Seatubes Troubleshooting ReportWhen Seatubes Appears Not To work - Version: 1.2.5, 1/19/2009 08:38AM PST

Now that version 1.2.5 has overcome the recent changes at YouTube (HURRAY FOR JOE!) there remains one problem that can make Seatubes appear not to work. This is when a video in a list you have created has either been yanked from the YouTube site (typically for copyright infringement) or it has a warning connected with it that requires some action before can view it. When Seatubes runs into one of these videos it simply stops. It gives no error message. It is up to you to figure out what is going on. Hopefully Joe will at least provide an error message when this occurs (hint hint).

Examples:

(1) I had a list of Appallin' Palin videos to laugh at in my old age. One of them was from Saturday Night Dead of Tina Fey's brilliant portrayal. I had saved the list then came back to it another day. During the duration, NBC had the video yanked because of copyright infringement. This video was at the top of my Seatubes list. So when I asked Seatubes to download the entire list, it did nothing. It just sat there. So I deleted the Tina Fey video and now the list worked fine.

(2) As a total Pink Floyd addict I wanted to download the orgy scene from the film Zabriskie Point. ;-) But darn! Seatubes was downloading a list for me then stopped dead at that video! So I copied out the URL from Seatubes then deleted it from the list, hit the Download button again and all was well. I then took the URL over to Firefox to use the DownloadHelper extension to grab it. Aha, "This video or group may contain content that is inappropriate for some users". So I hit the "Confirm Birth Date" button, up it came and the grabbing commenced, of the video that is.

Seatubes ReviewWorks great for me. - Version: 1.2.5, 1/18/2009 12:29PM PST

Joe contacted me with the new version. I downloaded it, then I successfully downloaded and converted two videos with it. I am glad to see that Joe has fixed it. It's just easier to use Seatubes to download and convert at the same time than to do both parts separately with other software.

Seatubes ReviewNo longer works - Version: 1.2.3, 12/23/2008 02:34PM PST

Seatubes is a wonderful program. Or at least it was. Apparently, Google changed something on the YouTube site to disable Seatubes. Consequently, the program no longer works. Seatubes' developer is aware of the problem & has made an effort to fix the program, but so far, has not been able to do so. The problem lies with Google. Unfortunately, the consequences fall upon Seatubes.
