Videobox ReviewThis version works great - Version: 2.8.6.3, 11/29/2009 07:52AM PST

I've been using this for awhile and just purchased the latest version. For me, it works great - I'm able to download flash video from popular - and not so popular sites. I highly recommend it.

Videobox ReviewThis has sucked for several versions. - Version: 2.8.6.3, 11/29/2009 05:03AM PST

I purchased VideoBox back with Safari whatever and OS 10.4.11. It worked great for several months. Including functioning with many Safari updates and OS 10.5 updates. However, the last 3 or 4 releases have been nothing but trouble and FAIL TO WORK in all cases.

Currently with OS10.5.8 and Safari 4.0.4 and the latest SIMBL release, this plug in does nothing but hang and crash Safari in all cases.

I've sent tech support emails, gotten polite responses, but yet the plug in still FAILS TO WORK IN ALL CASES.

In addition... I've installed on a system running OS 10.6.2 still no functionality.

Basically it's broke and it has yet to be fixed.

At least it was under $10.

Videobox ReviewShould be "Video Rocks!" - Version: 2.8.5, 8/16/2009 12:54AM PST

Great little app here. It works in the background to capture video in Safari and it worked at every site I've tried. I thought their last app FLVR was good, but this one offers way more saving options. Small cost, ease of use plus the customer service being most excellent made this one of my best purchases of all time.

Videobox CommentarySafariStand is a better plugin for downloading .flv files - Version: 2.8.5, 6/25/2009 05:35AM PST

If your preferred browser is Safari, use SafariStand to save flash files. It's free and you get video download as well as all the other functionality of SafariStand.

Videobox ReviewHulu support? - Version: 2.8.4, 6/10/2009 07:21AM PST

Get this working with Hulu, and it will be worth its weight in gold (or at least $8)... otherwise, Activities window method works for me.

Videobox Troubleshooting ReportOSX 10.5.7 update Safari freezes - Version: 2.8.3, 5/19/2009 07:03PM PST

"SIMBL error-failed to load the TastyAppsAVPlugin plugin ***-[NSProxy
doesNotRecognizeSelector:respondsToSelector;] called!

This appears to be caused by VideoBox plugin. I could not find the plug or any file named "TastyApps...." anywhere. But a quick fix is remove and store SIMBL in the System/Library/Input managers folder. It appears to be software that 3rd parties use to communicate with Safari.

Videobox CommentaryWhy Pay $8.00 when you can do this for free? - Version: 2.8, 3/30/2009 05:50PM PST

if you are running Safari, then you can download any .flv video source, or possibly any other format! Here's what you do: First open the video you want to download in Safari. Step two, click the activities window under the window menu. Third, double click on the one file that is 5.0 mb or larger. It should download to either your desktop, or your downloads folder. Then, open your freshly downloaded video in an open-source program like VLC media player which can be downloaded here. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html
Enjoy!
