Facebook Exporter for iPhoto ReviewWonderful! - Version: 1.0.6, 10/8/2009 04:12PM PST

I was excited when Apple added support for FaceBook to iPhoto.... until I tried it. You can't choose an existing album, or do many other functions as you upload.

This does everything you need it to.

Regarding the last poster who says you can't upload to your Profile album. Just go to: "existing album" there is is; "Profile pictures". You don't see that?

You were using *Export*, and picking the FaceBook plugin, and not *Share* -> FaceBook, right?

Because it's there, Profile Pictures.

And regarding the fact that you can't use any photo in any album as a profile picture... yes you can, right in FaceBook.

You can even make a photo in someone else's photos, as long as you are tagged in it, as your profile picture. I just tried it.

Just go to the photo, and on the lower right hand corner is a little button that says [Share][+], and right under that it says:

Tag This Photo
*Make Profile Picture*
Report This Photo

There you go.

Have you actually used FaceBook?

Facebook Exporter for iPhoto ReviewMind-bogglingly stupid omission - Version: 1.0.5, 12/29/2008 07:28PM PST

dump
This won't let you upload to the "Profile Pictures" album, and Facebook won't let you set any profile pictures unless they're in that album, and of course the stupidest thing is that Facebook won't let you add photos to the Profile album from other albums. So there is no way to use this plugin to get profile pictures up. Unbelievable. Isn't anyone thinking about actual usage?

I hope the developers fix this stupid omission, either by removing the pointless restriction on uploading using this plugin, or by removing the pointless restriction on adding profile photos from other albums, or both!

Otherwise, this works fine for photos which you would never, ever want to use as profile pictures!
I am giving a low rating because the one omission is so glaring and pointless as to be absolutely inexcusable...

Using OS X 10.5.5 and iPhoto 6.0.6 this works flawlessly. I really like it a lot.

This is a very useful exporter and works perfectly with iPhoto I've found. The only thing that I'd like to see in addition is to support export any image file that is supported by Mac OS X/iPhoto such as PSDs, PDFs, etc.

Facebook Exporter for iPhoto CommentaryNewer version but still broken - Version: 1.0.3, 7/7/2008 12:01AM PST

The Developers' web site has a newer version of the plugin (1.0.4), but doesn't work with 10.5.4. Not sure why the newer version isn't posted to VersionTracker. People with 10.5.3 might want to try it out. The release date was shortly before the 10.5.4 update, so I'm guessing they are just behind.

Facebook Exporter for iPhoto CommentaryDoesn't work with 10.5.3 - Version: 1.0.3, 6/29/2008 06:02PM PST

Crazy Dave
Facebook Exporter for iPhoto is broken again with yet another hopeless update from Apple that breaks almost every application in existence. I'm so happy I bought a Windows XP computer to go with my Mac, otherwise I wouldn't be able to get ANY work done. At least it works reliably most of the time. Leopard = headache every time Apple releases a system update. Windows XP = get stuff done without having to worry about updating your programs every 2 weeks.

Apple: It just works (only just, and only sometimes)

I updated to OS 10.5.3 and now every export to Facebook fails with an error message about the first picture in the group.

Facebook Exporter for iPhoto CommentaryBug: Sometimes can't tag - Version: 1.0.3, 3/16/2008 10:15PM PST

Krioni
It seems that tagging no longer works properly. Makes it a pain - you have to upload, then tag using the much slower web interface. I hope they update it to fix this.
