great idea for an application. the technology is sound. but the price is just outrageous. even at $52 for a single copy it is far cheaper to burn multiple dvd's and lock them away some place safe. at current prices i can get about 200 DVD discs, could burn two copies of all discs in a standard format at full capacity and have them readable on any current system and likely any future system as well.

TrueDisc ReviewWorks as advertised - Version: 1.0.1, 3/13/2007 05:50AM PST

I was pretty skeptical about this until I burned a few test discs and had my way with them. I cut them, sliced them and actually removed half of the reflective layer on the disc and this application restored them every time. I would say if you're on the fence about this app then do what I did and throw your worst at it and see if it makes you a believer. They still have a lot of work to do. Documentation doesn't really exist. The price is high for something so unproven, but has a decent interface and, in my tests anyway, proved to do exactly what it claims to do which is to protect your data through redundancy and an easy to use restore process. I am really looking forward to seeing this application mature.

LOL! I thought there was some new optical media being produced, then I realized that this is just a software "solution". You're a total sucker if you buy this.

Oh Please, it sure does sound like you know him and to make it worse, you claim you don't know him. You may be for real, but it just doesn't sound like it and it prevented me from downloading.

This looks like it's a brand new app on the market that didn't pay it's dues yet and asking 52.00 a copy, good luck.

Time destroys all things. A very wise Greek once said, "anything with a beginning is destined to decay".

Photo's in print have lasted a very long time and are still going, but every 10 years your going to have to back up everything on fresh disks because they only last that long.

I say print them out and put them in a shoe box so you know you won't loose them. That way when the world ends in 2012 you can still view them. Your computer is no good without electricity. Tech stuff is cool but don't replace the old, you may need it.

TrueDisc CommentaryGreat Developer - Version: 1.0, 3/3/2007 03:10PM PST

I just used this to a very minimal amount. The interface is nice, and extremely easy to use. The most critical factor I'd say is the developer. I've already exchanged several emails with him and he seems to be excellent. I was concerned about the de-activation that is required when uninstalling. It turns out that the "License Control" system is much less restrictive than other types I've encountered (i.e. Fast DVDCopy). Anyway, Future features planned for this app seem to be very impressive. Besides Blu-Ray support, it seems they will be adding special features specifically for backing up photos, etc.

I think this is going to be a great app, and the developer has already shown that he is great too. No, I don't know the guy at all.
