The Missing Sync for BlackBerry CommentaryBlackberry OS 5 breaks this software - Version: 2.0.3, 2/7/2010 10:27AM PST

Aside from the software working inconsistently (duplicate entries, failures to sync blah, blah, blah), now BB OS 5 breaks 1/2 the conduits. I bought a new Storm2 and the software was basically emasculated. No more syncing of notes, music, photos, call and SMS logs. It has been months and these guys STILL have not come up with a fix. They are also being cheeky by not making this information available on their info page, leading unsuspecting buyers to purchase software that has big holes in it.

The Missing Sync for BlackBerry Reviewworks great after a bit of work - Version: 2.0.3, 12/26/2009 12:15PM PST

There's enough negative feedback here, so I figure it's time for a positive review. I've been using The Missing Sync for the past week (free eval) and am ready to plunk down my money for it. It took some work to get it syncing properly, but now it syncs properly each time, no dupes, no missing syncs, no cables, no fuss. I love it!

I did have an issue when I started with duplicate and missing calendar events, but there's a tech support article (Some of my Data Syncs, But Some Doesn't...) that describes the issue and how to resolve it. Once I ran through those steps, it started syncing properly.

So maybe a bit tough to get started, but the freedom it provides is well worth the effort!

The Missing Sync for BlackBerry ReviewIf hating this software is wrong then I don't want to be right. - Version: 2.0.2, 11/16/2009 11:43AM PST

To oversimplify things by saying that "It just doesn't work" doesn't quite give a full picture of the frustration and pain associated with this product. I rely on my calendar for business and when this software randomly deletes data from my iCal I lose records of my time which means I lose money. Thankfully I backup , but having to restore my info every time I sync isn't my idea of software that works. I've been back and forth with their tech support numerous times and even paid for the 2.0 upgrade to the software hoping that it would eventually work.

Don't buy it, don't try, and if you have time send them hate-mail.

Stick with the official Blackberry Desktop software recently released for mac. It has its flaws but it works a hell of a lot better than this...thing.
