This is one of those rare programs that is not just useful but is a real pleasure to use - I certainly second Foobar1969's comment about its artistic merits. And each upgrade adds another worthwhile bit of functionality. Thanks for a great utility.

It takes a few minutes of mousing around the map to understand how this program displays things, but it makes sense after that and helps you sort your HD. Also the results look like avant garde art.

I used Disk Inventory X for years to do exactly what this application does. I figured it would only be a matter of time before DIX broke with the latest OS, since it appears to be no longer in development. To DIX's credit it has worked flawlessly with every system from Jaguar to Leopard. GrandPerspective appears to be a worthy successor, with a few more useful features and a chance that user feedback and requests may actually make into the application.
Nice work!

What a helpful little application this is for providing a quick yet detailed overview of files, folders and entire drives if necessary. The immediate info feedback in the 'focus' menu and instant 'reveal' command (which opens the highlighted file) make tidying up easy. Full marks for a first class effort. Love your palette names too.
Wow. Simple, but useful.

I have been casually looking for a volume mapping utility like this. It allowed me to look at my iTunes library in about 10 seconds and at a glance I found a pile of .aiff files that were not showing up in the library (for some reason) but were hogging a pile of drive space. I was able to have this nifty utility pop them up in the finder where I could either delete them or pop them back into iTunes to convert to MP3. I tossed a bunch of other files I would have never noticed like Garage Band loop tapes (I don't use GB). After about a beer's worth of snooping I had regained 15gb of drive space back. ME LIKEE!

Could do with a Depth Guage - Version: 0.99, 9/15/2007 08:18AM PST

If set to View by Depth, it could do with a Depth Guage
-- Otherwise it's difficult to judge which colour corresponds to which depth.
It's an Interesting idea, but as currently implemented, not as useful as it could be.

I ever try to find a tool like GrandPerspective to find large unused files or directories on my harddisk. GrandPerspective looks like KDE- or Konqueror-FSview.
