David ElbertI'm not sure if there is an issue with Nikon's servers, but for now I am unable to download the update.

craig@animalheadHad a discussion in January with a Nikon tech rep who told me that Nikon takes so long to respond to new OSes because "their team goes out and buys a new OS the day the Apple releases it". I suggested that they should participate in Apple's developer program so they would get pre-release copies and could start earlier. He assured me that there was no such program...

Clams McShrewWell, that's what I love about this app. As long as I remember to leave the lens cap off the lens, and the lens on the camera, I can pretty much take shots without ever handling the camera at all! My shiny new Nikon D3 is such a heavy beast, especially loaded with the batteries and a 17-35 mm AF-S or a 80--400 mm VR lens, that it's just easier to shoot this way, without ever touching the camera at all.
Of course things were different back in the days of a little FE2 with a 50mm lens, but there's just no going back. Anyway, thanks to Nikon Camera Control Pro, from the comfort of my Herman Miller office chair I have taken a fantastic series of shots of the inside of my camera bag which I am hoping to have published by a well known photography magazine soon.

osxzillaDownloaded and installed 2.0.1, hooked up my D1X, and CCP saw it and allowed control from my laptop once again.
Finally! (fyi: 10.5.2 on a MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo)

Wow...Loves to Crash and Hang

dshough1Repeatedly crashes on Intel Mac Mini, without any rhyme or reason. Runs for 18 hours flawlessly, then crashes. Restart computer, and application - runs for just an hour before crash. Restart, and runs for six hours before crash. All this on brand new system, with nothing unusual installed, and all updates for the app and system installed.
When it did work, it worked well. Really missing one thing, though. Want to use this to document construction of a new building, but it's missing the ability to trigger the camera only during specified hours. (I don't really need a bunch of shots of the site during the night). This is a big oversight by Nikon.
Making things worse is the fact that Nikon offers no software support forums to assist in figuring out the problem. Beware. You have been warned!
Problem installing v1.3.0

rico69"A different region of Camera Control Pro is already installed. First uninstall the already installed Camera Control Pro, then reinstall the software."
I obtained this version from the Nikon Canada website, along with the version 1.3.0 update so I don't understand the different region thing ( I also tried the updater from nikon USA website, and as well from version tracker).
I then tried uninstalling, and then reinstalling as the message instructed but v.1.3.0 is an updater and will not work without first having version 1.0.0 installed. I then reinstalled v1.0.0, rebooted the system, and then attempted to install v1.3.0 but still got the same message. As a result I have not able to update to Camera Control pro to v1.3.0.
The one pet peeve I have is the Nikon updating function that is built into the Camera Control Pro 2. When I check through the Nikon software, it says all my software is up to date even though it is not. This has been an issue since the early days of Nikon's Capture/Camera control software. If it wasn't for sites like Version Tracker, I would not be informed of any Nikon software updates.
