TimeFlyer Reviewsimple and straightforward - Version: 2.2, 3/8/2009 12:22AM PST

I have no use for a timeline app but if I did I would probably buy this one. Firstly it's very simple to use it effectively has no learning curve, secondly, it seems to give you most of the eye candy of more expensive timeline programs like Bee Knees standard timeline, and thirdly it's significantly cheaper than Bee Knees. My only complaint is that there was no obvious way to import calendar info from apps like ical although there is a suggestion in the help file that it will import tab delimited files. In the short time I tested it, it worked flawlessly, no crashes and files loaded quickly. One really can't fault it as a inexpensive straightforward timeline app.

My daughter (13) needed a timeline software for school. Unfortunately, it was the weekend and her project was due Monday. The school has a PC program and we were looking for something on Mac to get the project done. We tried TimeFlyer.
The program was easy to run and understand (my 13 yo did it without any guidance). The defaults were esthetically appealing and she commented how much nicer this program was compared to the one at school.
Rec:
1. Sometimes when the date is added to the timeline, some strange date switching occurs; ie, change the day, and the month changes (when using keyboard entry);
2. The default adds the time of day ... is there a way of choosing the information displayed? You can enter the date manually.
3, It would be nice to be able to add free text such as a title for the timeline, maybe it's there but I didn't see it.

The timeline can be exported to png,pdf, or MOVIE. Overall, I would give it my recommendation. Perhaps the developer could comment on the above
