krank ReviewA very good game, but slight buggy - Version: 0.7, 10/18/2007 08:44AM PST

hels_003
I enjoyed this game very much, and was keen to download and try it despite the warnings of bugs from other reviewers.

The game itself is a great premise, really intuitive (the goal becomes apparent very quickly, without the need for instructions), with a nice gentle learning curve to keep players interested. The sound and music are perfect, and add that relaxing feel that is advertised. The game play is a bit less relaxing than advertised - I would instead say that it is strangely addictive!

The bugs that previous reviewers have mentioned did occur when I played - I got to level 9, and once the game considered me to have completed the task, it did not automatically change to the next level, as it has done previously. Luckily this did not stop me from continuing - I quit the game and went back in, using the level select option to go to level 10.
The game does start to slow down and the movement becomes jerky after level 8 or 9.

The game could benefit from allowing the player to restart the level more than once (when pressing R), as to keep messing up a level means that you have to keep quitting and going back in.
A 'Quit' button on the game screen itself would also be good, as it took me a while to work out that the only way to leave the game is to force quit (alt+cmd+esc).

Overall, a good game, if you don't mind finding ways round the bugs.

This game is awesome. The music really adds to it!

But I also have some sort of a "freeze" problem. When the level has finished, the remaining balls keep kicking around, and the music goes on. Somehow the game does not proceed to the next level. Pressing Escape does not help, and Cmd-Q is useless, too. I doubt that the Force-quit-app hotkey works, but I'll try. So far only the 5-sec push of the power button worked which is of course a bad solution. I also started ssh so I may kill the game from the other computer.
