But after 5 minutes or so I can already tell that it won't meet our needs.
The only payment information supported is date, a check mark and a free form field; no way to deal with partial payments or late invoices. No way even to sort by paid/unpaid.
Invoices and payments should be customer based; allow me to see all the invoices that a specific customer has been sent, and to see all the payments that a customer has made.
