Just buy and use VueScan instead. - Version: 7.0.1.1X, 3/8/2008 11:45AM PST

I've struggled with this "driver" and Canon's scanner toolbox software for years. Each time I need to use my Canoscan LiDE 30 on a different or newly installed system, I dread having to try and make Canon's software work. After a clean install / upgrade to OS X 10.5, I went looking for this again but also found a link to VueScan, by Hamrick Software, as part of my "canon lide 30 os x 10.5" Google search. Downloaded, dragged to Applications, plugged in scanner, and launched VueScan and immediately it "just works" like things SHOULD on a Mac. Save yourself some headache, spend $40 on VueScan, and avoid Canon's scanner software like the plague.

The versions of the shared libraries are newer than the ones I had installed, which were the latest prior to this update. It's almost as if they found these back in a corner somewhere, noticed that they were newer versions, and released them.

Which scanners do these two new drivers support? I don't know which one to use. What is new? Agree - typical Canon suppport.
