I love this program. I imported my novel first draft from another program and was started in no time. Easy set up, easy formatting. Easy export and compiling of sections. Great features and intuitive interface. This is the one, writers...
If you write, give Scrivener a try

There are people who switch to Macs just to use Scrivener--it's just that good. The creator is a writer and knows what writers need. Most important of all, he knows how to create an application that meets those needs.
Scrivener is powerful and flexible. Nine times out of ten, when I come up with something that Scrivener ought to do, I find that it already has that feature ready and waiting. It's easy to use, but has the power to grow as your project gets more complex. Whatever your writing style, it will adapt to it. If you like to start with a broad outline and fill in the details later, it will handle that. If you get flashes of inspiration, but are uncertain where they'll end up, it will handle that too. Just create a document for your idea and decide where it goes later.
If you decide to radically alter what you're doing, you can save a snapshot, and revert back to it if you change your mind. And whatever you're doing from novels to technical documents, rearranging content is as easy as drag and drop Try doing that in Microsoft Word. There's also a full-screen mode that lets you eliminate everything from view but the words.
I won't say more. Follow the "Developer's Site" link above for more details, including a "Watch Video" link in the upper right. Note too that you can try it for 30 days before you buy.

I usually don´t have thetime to write reviews - and - if at all, only after I used the program for some time on a professional basis. As a writer (TV and stage) I like the intuitive and easy to use possibilities the program offers. There are enough great features, but and most of all, I can stay felxible with my exports or import into the program! I hate software that forces me to stick with it and doesn´t give me "bridges" to deal with other program worlds. As a writer living in Austria and writing in German I also welcome the fact that they do eg. include a German dictionary etc. and also change certain settings to a more "German look and feel".
Everything works smothly - its the first time that I leave Word as my first choice in laying out my drafts and ideas.
