I have used earlier versions of this for over a year. Yummy Soup is the menu app I use nowadays becuase it somehow taps into the fun of the internet menu scene. Look around online and if you like a recipe, probably its can be imported (with picture) by dragging the url onto the Yummy window. This update continues the well-advised emphasis on this key characteristic. Plus: easy full-screen view, smart lists (e.g., one for recipes not yet tried, one for recipes with eggs, etc.), shopping list. Whatever the future holds, mr or ms developer, please keep the fun in this one.

YS just keeps getting better and better - If only it had a meal planner... I've suggested this to the developer in the recent past and his amiable response was that, it's just not on his list of to-do's for the program right now [my paraphrasing]. With a meal planner I would have purchased this excellent program six months ago. Well, I'm looking at it again and the reviews look very good, the updates look very good, and it would be a no-brainer for me, if only it had a meal planner.
Dear Developer: Thanks for your excellent efforts in developing top-notch software for my platform of choice. You may get me to buy your software anyway, but you should be aware that if I do, then I will have to invent some clumsy work-around with iCal in order to make your otherwise near-perfect product work for me.

The web importer feature in YummySoup is second to none and although this feature is new and still needs some work it was the deciding factor in choosing this app.
This software cooks!

This is the best recipe program I've ever used!
The program enables you to organize recipes either by the categories pre-installed, or you could create your own system. Importing from a website is literally drop and drag. I've also manually imported from Word docs, which is easy as well -- select all of the ingredients, and drag and drop. Same with directions.
There's a nice feature which creates a full screen display of a recipe -- I take my MacBook Pro into the kitchen with me -- the full screen display is very easy to read while chopping and stirring!
I downloaded 1.5.1 yesterday, tried it out, and found some problems importing from epicurious. I emailed the developer, he wrote right back saying he had already developed a fix (problem was that epicurious had recently changed their website design). Installed the update this morning and it works perfectly.
I've tried a number of recipe and cooking programs over the years, and I like this one best by far. And the price is SOOOO reasonable. Thanks, Hungry Seacow!

This is a GREAT program! Very easy to use, with an elegant, simple, but powerful interface. A pleasure to use, and makes me want to use it. My girlfriend, who's a great cook and somewhat anti-recipe, loves the program (the great logo and name makes her want to use it!). The drag-and-drop ease of importing web recipes is a fantastic addition. The developer responded quickly to questions (within 1 day) and was very polite. Keep up the great work!
Love THis application

This is quite possibly the easiest recipe management tool out there. It's full screen option is excellent and the easy of emailing recipes is sure to make any user a favorite among friends. Must have if you love cooking.
YummySoup! is Yum-O!

I've been using Macs since the beginning, and frankly, this is one of the nicest applications for Mac that I've used-- ever. The interface is elegant and simple to use, even for children, yet it's a powerful application with drag-and-drop ease. On top of that, the developer is quick to respond to questions, as well as being friendly and helpful. Spectacular!
Keeps getting better!

I've been a user of Yummy Soup from almost the very beginning, and I must say how impressed I am, not only with the software, but also with the developer. Whenever I've posted comments on the YS forums, the developer responds within a day, and a lot of my suggestions have made it into the program.
The program itself has a very clean interface, and with the new addition of web importing, adding recipes has becoming absolutely a breeze. Very much recommended!

I'm NOT a friend of the developer! I've used many recipe databases starting from the days of Master Cook for Mac which was the best in my opinion but hasn't been available for years.
I finally settled on Yummy Soup because it does everything I want. The ability to copy and paste recipes from places such as recipefinder.com and others makes it easy to have the recipes I like in one place. I suspect thats the reason Yummy Soup doesn't come with a jillion recipes already in the application.

So much so, that I now read many more food blogs because of the ease of importing recipes.
