My apologies to the two posters below who have experienced the nastiest bug I have yet found in TK. The cause of the deleting-note = system crawl bug has been fixed. I am sorry anyone experienced that; somehow three testers on 5 macs never had it during all of development and then it just showed up. We're being more rigorous now!
To the last poster:
Thanks for the keyboard-shortcut tips. Select All will be in the next version.
Ditto for the export feature. Honestly, I'm not trying to lock anybody in; it's just that export is kind of low-priority compared to some of the features I'm implementing now. However, it is in the works! In the mean-time, by showing all your notes (see below), then shift-selecting the first and last one, and copying/dragging/inserting that, you can get all your notes out as a large text block... I hope that helps in the meantime!
A new note can be created with the plus button which is always visible. Command-Enter will have the same effect.
You can view all of your notes with a * or a (space) for the search character.
I'm not sure what you mean by "copy search strings".
Finally, it's true the interface is non-standard. I appreciate hearing you don't like it! This helps determine which aspects of the program most hinder you from using it to HELP YOU, which is the whole reason TK exists. I will continue to revise the interface, though the 1.0 version (which is already up but I haven't updated VT yet) is stuck with the one its got...
Anyway, if you are still interested in TK, feel free to drop me a line with the link from inside the application, or chat with me from the link on limbiclogic.com. I would be happy to help you directly and that would give me the chance to see more directly what's wrong with TK and improve it for everybody.

Needs a lot of work and re-thinking.

The application entered an infinite loop upon attempting to delete a note. As was the case with the previous poster, Trapper Keeper then proceeded consume RAM at a rate of several megabytes a second. I could barely force-quit it before my machine entered a swap-storm.
Common keyboard shortcuts don't work. I can't select all. I can't copy search strings. There is no clear way to create new notes if one is already found. Likewise, one cannot click the Preferences button or even quit the application without searching for and/or displaying an existing note.
As far as I can tell it's impossible to manage or even view all your notes at once. And without some kind of iPod trickery, there doesn't seem to be any way of exporting your notes to an open format if you ever wanted to stop using Trapper Keeper.
The button icons are cryptic and confusing. The application does not behave in a Mac-like way; the user is apparently expected to adapt to Trapper Keeper's conventions and behavior, because it's clearly not an intuitive application.
Finally, the author charges 15 USD for what is clearly a beta--I contend that this is not a fair deal.
