Product Description:

Pdfselect allows to extract pages from a pdf file by using the LaTeX package \tit{pdfpages} by Andreas Matthias. The pdf file has to be opened in TeXShop or Preview, then you can run pdfselect. The pages you want to extract should be given as list, e.g., \begin{verbatim} 3,7-23,{},1 \end{verbatim} entered in a dialogue window, will produce a pdf file containing the pages $3,7-23$ an empty page and page $1$ in that order. The paper size will be that of the original file. The string \cq{-} will insert all pages, \cq{$4-$} all pages starting with page 4 and \cq{last$-1$} will produce a pdf file with pages in reverse order.

What's new in this version:

Version 2.5: Cancelling the open folder dialogue in pdfmerge doesn't automatically cancel the whole script, but only the dialogue, i.e., the script will produce a merged pdf file with the selections chosen so far.

Product requirements should mention the need for a modern TDS-style TeX installation including the pdfpages package, as well as OS X 10.4.

The VersionTracker download link doesn't work properly - the data downloads as a Web page instead of a file (Firefox 1.5.0.9). The file's available via the developer's site without trouble.

The supplied help has not allowed me to set up my Mac in order to try out this software, so I've been unable to discover if it works. The setup program meant to help with this uses a fixed size window that puts controls off the bottom of a 1024x768 monitor screen.

I suspect that the software functions, but I have so far been able to put it to the test. It needs proper documentation and a bit more development.
