3.0 only supports Leopard. How can I get version 2.1? - Version: 3.0, 4/10/2009 07:18PM PST

Version 3.0 doesn't work on Tiger (10.4.11 in my case). How can I get version 2.1?

Tried version 3.0 with MacOS 10.5.6 and a Tivo HD connected via Airport network. TiVoDecode Manager finds my Tivo and downloads the program list, but refuses to download any programs. Whether I'm trying to download a queue or an individual show, the downloads just never begin.
Also, some interface objects (the "Cancel Download" button and various items in the Prefs drawer) are enabled/disabled or shown/hidden at inappropriate times.
I really liked earlier versions of this application, so I hope it gets back on its feet soon.

I've been using TDM for several years. I found the barely-working, long-neglected version 2.1 to still be superior to Roxio's TiVo Transfer (I own Toast Titanium 10). I am still having a problem where if I select say three episodes of a show and choose "add show to queue" they end up scrambled in the queue. This is still a great app doing one show at a time, but if you're working on it again, a fix for this would be great!

Version 3 doesn't work for me - Version: 3.0, 2/11/2009 11:24AM PST

Version 3 doesn't work on my Mac Pro (OS X 10.5.6). It connects to the TiVo, but it just sits there after selecting a recording and clicking Download & Decode (download doesn't start). I did add the app to "allow incoming connections" in the firewall.

This may not fix everyone's problems using tivodecode manager with Leopard, but I was having the same problem as several of you, with failed downloads looping over and over. I figured out that leopard's firewall, which is a lot different than Tiger's firewall, was not doing the usual thing and asking you if you wanted to allow tivodecode manager to accept incoming connection. I set the firewall to explicitly allow tivodecode manager to receive incoming connections, and then it worked fine. To try this, go to System Prefs > Security > Firewall tab, select the bottom choice "set access for specific services and applications", click the plus to add a new app to the list, naviogate to and select tivodecode manager, and make sure it's in the list and set to "allow incoming connections". You could also set the whole firewall to "allow all incoming connections" but then you've essentially turned off your firewall. Hope this helps somebody...

Imcomplete/Looping Downloads - Version: 2.1, 12/1/2007 10:08AM PST

Overall I am very satisfied with this application, but there one annoying and confusing quirk that I've noticed. From time to time a download process will occur where the download not only is not completed, but actually stops about two-thirds of the way through and will start over continuously as if it's caught in a loop. From what I can tell when this happens, it's in the situation when I hit record on a program that's already started (in Best Quality mode), and then when I stop the recording before the program has finished. Thus the recordings tend to be in Best Quality format and are brief - no more than 10-15 minutes in length. The recordings, however, seem to play normally on the TiVo device itself. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is is the application screwing up or a defect on the TiVo hard drive?

Some freeware programs deserve our thanks more than others. If you are a Mac user and have TiVo, this is such a program. Use this alone and watch anything from your TiVo on your iPod. Combine it with Visual Hub and you can take any video and do with it as you please. Thank you to the developers!
