Product Description:

Lighthouse is a dynamic port forwarding utility, allowing you to enable and disable port forwardings with just a single click. Both NAT/PMP (Apple Airport base stations) and UPnP (D-Link, Linksys, Netgear) protocols are supported.

Port forwardings are frequently necessary for tools such as instant messengers, file-sharing utilities and other networked applications that are run from behind a NAT gateway (read: a home network router). Being able to dynamically manage your port forwardings saves you from all the hassles of having to deal with cumbersome static forwardings.
  • Start and stop port forwardings with a single click
  • Lives in your menu bar - always easily accessible
  • Automatically start port forwardings when applications are launched
  • Automatically start Lighthouse when you log into MacOS X
  • Supports NAT/PMP routers (such as Apple Airport base stations)
  • Supports UPnP routers (such as D-Link, Linksys or Netgear branded routers)
  • Support for Growl notifications
  • Comes with pre-made port mapping profiles for popular applications

What's new in this version:

  • Added a French localization
  • Added a German localization
  • Updated help book look-and-feel
  • Fixed an issue when auto-starting profiles

I just purchased CIV4 and I am not able to connect with a friend and we both have 10.5.3. I find the new port mapping to be a whole helluva lot complicating than the previous OS. Trying to make heads or tails of it. thinking that this will help? anyone?

Lighthouse Reviewgreat product, helps speed up transmission - Version: 1.2.3, 12/11/2007 07:10AM PST

Well lately using leopard azureus has been giving me plenty of kernel panics and I never could get any speed out of transmission due to my ports always being stealth or blocked even when I forwarded the ports. Then when I was reading some forums I stumbled across this, downloaded it, and now transmission downloads just as fast as azureus if not faster, my ram isn't being used as much and no more kernel panics. plus the port is always open. I give this a 5 out of 5 stars.
