I went through SWU and until I logged in as a different user the update did not take... I have admin privileges of course... I was logged in as an admin user when I tried the update the first time... the same was true of the aluminum keyboard update...

I used Software Update, followed the shutdown; hold restart button until quick flashing sleep light, procedure as prompted, and the whole procedure was over in less than 4 minutes.
No problems whatsoever.
To be safe I repaired permissions afterwards.
