I used to use ExportIcon, but now its a gonner. This app really does the trick, however, one star is lost due to zero instructions and it will not assign to a drive volume.
No worries on the latter, just create a new folder, assign the icon to it, then copy and past the icon via "Get Info". A bit of a hassle, but the icon looks great!

Folders-Full Set which is a complete new set of folder icons to replace all the default blue Apple folder icons on your Mac.
Fantastic, easy and fast, professional results.

It's an amazing little app. I also used Iconographer time ago, but is one is as easy as drag and drop and saves a lot of work to create most icons. Nice and neat, my congratulations to developer :-)
Got it working in less than 10 minutes

All the documentation you need is right in this page. It's that simple and easy to use.
I remembered changing icons in OS 9 so many years ago, but only until now have I bothered even trying to learn how to change OS X icons. I remember reading a tutorial on how to do it manually for OS X, but it looked complicated so I didn't even bother.
This app is as easy as drag and drop.
The only hack I had to figure out on my own was when trying to change the icon for the OS app Mail. It wasn't a straightforward drag and drop. I tried having FastIcns change it a couple of times, but no dice.
I had to save the new icon in the .icns format, open Mail's package contents, go to the Resource folder and swap out the new icon with the old icon titled app.icns. It looks fine now!

Stupid interface and a waste of time. Copy > paste to the get info window is faster and less cumbersome.
Not even worth the download.

I even like the CUBE!
128x128 images can be composed in Photoshop with transparent backgrounds and drop shadows.
Then the saved image converted and assigned with Fasticns.
I have previously used the Export Icon Plug-in installed in Photoshop.
This is another way and fun to use.

Works great, but...

This app works great, but it has easily the most unintuitive interface I've ever seen. Points for creativity, but a standard Mac-like interface would make it much faster and easier to use. If you can't bring yourself to ditch the cube interface, at least change the cursor used when dragging a file to it. I want to make an icon not a shortcut--I thought I was doing something wrong at first! The green + cursor would make much more sense. Aside from that, the app does work great. Thanks!
there should be more like this ...
