R-Series routers have been absolutely rock solid, as a reseller and consultant, I am great disappointed at Netopia's decision to remove AppleTalk from their feature set. As one of the only lower-cost routers with AppleTalk on the market, Netopia basicallly had a monopoly on the Appletalk market. While Apple is SLOWLY transistioning from AppleTalk, AppleTalk still has features that are not duplicated on TCP/IP, yet. Namely PAP (printing), and AppleTalk naming to discover servers. Rendezvous is the alleged replacement for these types of services, however, I don't see any Rendezvous-type services listed as a new feature in the new firmware. Shame on you, Netopia for cutting off AppleTalk too soon.

and AURP support is *removed* in 4.11. Support states that only reliable (and now unsupported) version for AT is 4.84, although in my experience Localtalk support via serial port died in 4.10, but AURP was OK. Sadly, they do not disclose any of this in their release notes.
