Product Description:

AppDelete will delete the application you choose and any associated items (files and folders) that belong to that application. Now you will no longer have to hunt through your system to find these items and delete them manually. Or worse, just let them sit on your Mac forever even though the application is long gone!

To run AppDelete just drag the application or folder containing the application you want to delete onto the AppDelete icon. You can also select from the main menu, right-click an item in the Finder using the AppDelete Automator workflow, or just drop an app in the Trash. An easy way is to keep AppDelete in your dock so you can drag your app or folder containing the app onto the icon in your dock. After doing this AppDelete will search your system to find the associated items. After clicking on "Delete" these items will be moved inside of a folder in the trash named "AppDelete" with the name of the app you dragged onto the icon. You can inspect this folder if you like before emptying the trash.

AppDelete also has a "Undo" feature, the ability to "Log only" for reference, it can search for invisible or "hidden" items, and more! And AppDelete keeps a log of all processing that it does. Try it today!

What's new in this version:

  • Addresses a few minor issues in the updating process (mostly Panther users)
  • Implements scrollable file names in the preview window to avoid truncating
  • Fixes a minor bug in the Force Empty Trash feature
  • Includes all new features of Version 2.0 plus other minor fixes and improvements
It is recommended that all users upgrade to this new redesigned version for the latest features and improvements. Thank you!

AppDelete CommentaryAppCleaner is Free - Version: 2.0.1, 7/15/2008 07:04AM PST

AppCleaner is a "cleaner" interface, does a great job and is FREE!

I tried them all (like another poster) and am happier with AppCleaner and much happier with the price.

I didn't rate this one, but it does what it says. Personal choice.

i have tested the different "trashers" and I find that appdelete consistently finds more files than the others. sometimes the results are the same but take address book for example. appzapper found 4, appcleaner found 4, apptrap found only 2, and appdelete found 10!!! And appdelete will now pick up if something has been put in the trash too? i think i'm going to stick with appdelete for now. jo

AppDelete Reviewnone - Version: 2.0, 6/10/2008 06:16PM PST

I have tried a few app's that try to uninstall but found that none of them can find all the files a program installs. So with that said I found that this program "appdelete" for the three times I was able to use it work fine. It found all the files the three programs I chose to remove except for one and that one was kinda a funny one its iMac/private/var/folders/rh/rhSCnoHFG+ua3R6wyE4EGU+++Ti/Caches/com.synium.cleanapp3. I didn't like cleanapp and my trial ran out. I did not like the way it handle a file or files that needed permissions to remove it. It had to ask for my password each and every time for each file. It would be better if it could ask one time for all files for that program its removing. Out side of the blinking or flashing the finder windows when removing I think its doing a good job. Keep in mind I only ran it three time so I will have to think about buying it to really give it a go.
