Still doesn't work with all Office 2008 apps - Version: 2.2.5, 12/23/2008 10:53AM PST
spjones1--2008
Zooom is great -- when it works. Unfortunately, although it works perfectly in Safari, Firefox and finder windows, its compatibility is still spotty with Office 2008 apps. Here's a rundown from my tests:
Excel: Works perfectly.
PowerPoint: Works perfectly.
Entourage: Moves windows, but will not resize them.
Word: Neither moving nor resizing works.
I've seen nothing about this on Zooom's forums for several months, so maybe it's just me. Is anyone else experiencing these issues?

Also like Zooom very much. How did I live w/o it? (chorusing other feedback). Valuable the same way SideTrack is. Using OS X 10.5.1 on a PowerBook.
Zooom's way of using more of a gestural motion for resizing & moving windows w/o looking for a specific spot on a window w/ a mouse/trackpad will quickly pay for Zooom. Why? Because of less repetitive motion wear & tear on my body.
See freeware, WindowDragon, mentioned as an alternative. However I'm leery of haxies such as Unsanity's APE, which is required; haxies have sometimes created anomalies in my OS.
xPad: I can't resize docs by dragging the mouse inside the window; still have to grab the window's corner.
Oxford American Dictionary widget: Zooom isn't able to resize. Have to drag the corner of widget.
Works well w/ TextEdit, Finder, Safari, Firefox & VLC.
Safari: One of Zooom's default keyboard cmd, Cmd + Shift, interferes w/ Safari's keyboard command to open a link in new tab. So I had to change Zooom's default Move cmd in Prefs.
Photoshop CS: Can move images around w/ Zooom but when resizing window of opened image, window grows larger but image does not increase in size. Didn't take time to check if Zooom's keyboard resize cmd mirrored one of Photoshop's bazillion keyboard commands?

Zoom prevented me to go back to Linux - Version: 2.0.3, 12/18/2007 02:32PM PST

It's hard to "suffer" the OS X desktop without Zoom...when you come from the easy-moving and easy-resizing that is today's Linux desktops.
I have only one request: allow to use the same key for both move/resize and use the mouse button to distinguish between actions.

Still crashes PathFinder - Version: 2.0.0, 11/5/2007 09:24PM PST

I like, and paid for, this product but cannot use it with PathFinder (under Tiger and Leopard). Still get PF crashes whenever I click on the search window when Zooom is active. Neither developer can seem to figure it out. Not a travesty for sure but I wish I could get this resolved. If anyone else had this issue and solved it, feel free to reply.
thanks!
thanks!

I like this app, but I found Window Dragon which does the same thing for free and now I need to un-install this one but have no way to do so. Can anyone help me?
Nice Application

This is a cool application. Works as described. Includes a very quick tutorial which is helpful (although should tell people to "Activate" Zooom first!).
Feature request - in addition to the two primary modes, I would like two more "Modes". 1) a "Windowshade" type mode where the window closes to a single title bar, and 2) a mode where ALL the open windows arrange to the "Magnetic Grid" and resize. and 3) a mode where the window closes and "Falls" down to the "Dock" bar.
Cool App!

Internationalization - version 1.5.1 - Version: 1.5, 2/23/2007 06:41AM PST

A quick note: Version 1.5.1 begins the 'internationalization' effort with French and German translations. I am looking for translators willing to help - if you'd like a free lifetime license, and can translate Zooom into another language - please contact me (website contains a contact page).
Thank you.

Yet another piece of software that I didn’t know I couldn’t live without until I used it. I always have multiple windows open and am moving and resizing frequently. I didn’t realize what a pain it was to have to find the top (to move) and the corner (to resize) each time until I didn’t have to do it anymore!
I actually started with MondoMouse because I saw it in a Versiontracker email; but MondoMouse didn’t work for some of my software that I use frequently, like Appleworks and iTunes. It also gave me problems with Firefox, working sometimes and not others, which proved to be annoying when working quickly, with fingers flying.
I searched and found Zooom and was especially pleased, not only because it worked consistently with Firefox, Appleworks, and iTunes, but also because it’s $5.00 cheaper than MondoMouse! There are also a few more bells and whistles in Zooom, and the mouse visuals are more subtle and less obtrusive. I can hardly ask for more.

Thought I'd try it out but doubted that I'd buy. Well... on the first day the top of one of my Excel spreadsheets got "hidden" under the Excel tool bar. Normally when that happens (not often) I have a devil of a time moving the spreadsheet down so I can see it. Then I remember I had just installed Zooom, and sure enough cmd-shift allowed me to easily move it down. Resizing also worked with Excel. Ditto for MS Word.
I just paid my shareware fee.
I just paid my shareware fee.
Well my problem has been that I live in MS Office. Probably about 40-50% of what I do on a computer is in Office. And Zooom, despite all the promises did not work in Office! Until now.
No promises in the release. It just works. Powerpoint and Excel are smooth. There's hesitation and hitches in Word, but it will work.
And, it's cheap.
I'm happy!!
