Product Description:

Music Machine 1 will generate music according to the following parameters: Decision 1: How many voices will play? (choice of 1-10) For each different instrument the following decisions are then made: Decision 2a: Which note will be played? (choice of 1 to 127 (middle C = 60)) Decision 2b: How loud will that note be played? (choice of 1 (almost silent) to 127 (very loud)) Decision 2c: Which sound will be used? (choice of 1 to 128 (see table below)) Decision 3: How long will the notes be held? (choice of 0.25, 0.375, 0.5, 0.75, 1. 1.5, 2, 3, 4, 6 or 8 seconds. These are equivalent to the following note values at 60 bpm, semiquaver, dotted semiquaver, quaver, dotted quaver, crotchet, dotted crotchet, minim, dotted minim, semibreve, dotted semibreve and breve.) Decision 4: How long before the process repeats? (choice is from the same values as for the held notes with the additional choice of 0 seconds). The machine will run indefinitely until stopped by the user. Please note the music machine is a stand alone application that will play music within parameters set by the composer not the user. Other music machines that offer some intervention by the user are available from the music machine website - follow the link from this page.

Music Machine 1 ReviewLovely, if you like this kind of thing. - Version: 1.0, 10/24/2006 08:55AM PST

This program does EXACTLY what it says it will do. If you find this kind of thing interesting, the website has a nice collection of similar programs. Some of them do give the user control. Some do not. (Number 5 does not, but I like it anyway.) If this kind of thing does not interest you, then no, there is nothing here for you. And, yes, the icons are lovely.

Music Machine 1 ReviewThis is a WORTHLESS piece of crap ... - Version: 1.0, 10/18/2006 03:43PM PST

I'm a musician and produce for others, so I'm always looking for something novel to create simple digital sounds to even tracks.

This "programme" is a totally worthless piece of crap and useful to no one, from neophyt to advanced. It has absolutely NO controls, No interface except make noise .... and that's exactly what it does, plays random prerecorded tone noise.

Keep on moving by, nothing here to look at, let alone download ... you'll just be wasting bandwidth and disk space.

Ps. VERSIONTRACKER! GET SOME NEW DAMN SERVERS! Getting tired of waiting 5 MINUTES while you're SLOOOOOOW Servers to wake up and deliver!

Music Machine 1 CommentaryCan't the user control these "decisions"? - Version: 1.0, 10/13/2006 05:02AM PST

I know the description says "preset parameters", but I was expecting to be able to have some control to generate something listenable, & perhaps useable in Logic.
There is too long a silence between a lot of notes to really hear them as a piece of music, however discordant it is.
Also stopping it while it plays a particularly long, harsh
sound does not cut the sound off. It still plays to the end.
Nice icon though.
