FileSync CommentaryLooks good... - Version: 2.2, 8/10/2009 05:04PM PST

...but confused: will it copy back changes in the "dupe" folder to the "master" folder if Mirror is deselected?

FileSync ReviewSolves a Big Problem: Continue to Copy After Error - Version: 2.0.8, 3/16/2009 11:52AM PST

Saint Rowan
One big annoyance of the Finder is it just halts the moment it encounters an error while copying. If you have a CD/DVD with problems on it, like a clip art disk with thousands of files and only a few random ones have errors, FileSync will skip over the bad files and continue to copy the good ones. This saves hours of aggravation (especially when compared with starting and stopping a Finder copy, file by file, over and over again). And it's very easy to just select the exact folders you want.

FileSync Reviewdidn't work for me - Version: 2.0.2, 7/10/2008 10:12PM PST

The "mirror" option doesn't work. I reorganized a bunch of files on my Master disk but the Copy failed to reflect changes after sync. Waste of time.

FileSync Developer Note2.0 Update delayed - Version: 2.0, 6/2/2008 12:56PM PST

I apologize for any inconveniences. The initial release, when announced, was not properly updated on the server. The download file is now correctly updated to 2.0, June 2, 1pm PST.

FileSync CommentaryLooks fine to me - Version: 2.0, 6/2/2008 03:57AM PST

I've only just downloaded this so I wouldn't want to rate it yet, but at first sight it looks fine. No download problems, quick to set up, trial syncs ran fast and smoothly. I'm looking for an alternative to my present sync program (Synk) so I'm going to give this a more extended trial.

quirky unfinished application that appears simple to use. takes ages to perform syncs as it processes one file at a time very slowly and pauses for no good reason between the file copies.
to backup 1000 files would take around 3000 seconds. use it if you have nothing better to do.

FileSync ReviewWorks, but... - Version: 1.2, 6/7/2007 04:07PM PST

FileSync only syncs one way, from your master to your copy. If you work on two locations at the same time, it is of limited use. Backup to (a) second location(s) is fine. (Alternatively you can drag the folder(s) yourself...)

There is no dialog showing what files are to be copied, deleted or updated. The application just does its job...

There is no dialog or warning if the settings file "SyncFiles" can not be saved. I did not have permission to the FileSync application folder. The application is thus not ready for multiple users, since they must share the same "SyncFiles"-file. Would be better if FileSync saved the SyncFiles-file in the users preferences folder, for instance.

I also miss a stop-button... (If you have made a mistake when setting up the sync, it can be a wait before everything is finished.)

FileSync ReviewErrors - Version: 1.2, 6/6/2007 06:52PM PST

Cowicide
Kind of wierd interdace where it has a checkmark for "select folders" or not, but doesn't seem to change anything in what it does? The thing stopped with an error. I can't rely on this... sigh... why can't someone make another CopyAgent like the one for OS 9 by Connectix before they were swallowed up by Microsloth? Crap...

Does what it says.

No way of stopping a sync once it is started, or pausing to resume later.

Progress bar does not show percentage of progress.
