I sent an e-mail to the developer (csonline@srslabs.com) and got a link to the new version in less than 24 hours. iTunes works fine now. Good service. Good product.

Snow Leopard (10.6) does not work with this version of iWOW. It puts it in a special folder called "Incompatible Software". A new version of this app needs to come out ASAP.

SRS iWOW Premium for iTunes CommentaryDeveloper Not Responding - Version: 3.1, 7/20/2009 11:03PM PST

I had bought an earlier version of iWow through a macupdate bundle I think and then had paid to upgrade when the new version (3.0) came out.
I was happy with it as far as it went, but then I had to upgrade my Hard Drive and I went to re-register the software. Now it tells me that I have used up all my registrations (I had it on all three users on my one machine). I have contacted the developer three times through their website about this and not heard a peep back from them.
So is this money wasted, or does anyone have a solution? Perhaps even the developer themselves.

SRS iWOW Premium for iTunes ReviewA piece of expensive crap - Version: 3.1, 6/28/2009 11:23AM PST

Whenever there is new release of iWOW, the new release will crash iTunes without any reason. This has happened almost consistently for all past releases. Don't blame me for the crash as all installation is done by installer instead of manually on latest iMac with fully updated Mac OS 10.5.7 installation. I have enough of this crap and it is removed from my system for good.

The developers never seem to learn from past mistakes but thinking that they can fool users all the time. No more business for SRS Labs in future regardless of product.

SRS iWOW Premium for iTunes ReviewI love iWow! - Version: 3.1, 6/26/2009 08:58PM PST

I rarely write reviews, but I do love what this iTunes add-on does for the sound of my music. And I'm an old audiophile with finicky ears. My Bose Companion II speaker system sounds flat and lifeless without iWow running. Highest praise.

Hi everybody, i'm with SRS Labs and I just wanted to drop in to a few forums and let users of SRS iWOW 3.0 for iTunes know that we will soon be releasing an update to version 3.0 that will add the auto preset features that many of our customers have been requesting. The update will be for version 3.0 only and will be free to everyone who paid for version 3.0. If you have any questions about the update you can ask me directly on Twitter at @SRSLabs. Thanks!

SRS iWOW Premium for iTunes ReviewGreat software and excellent customer service - Version: 3.0, 3/17/2009 10:31AM PST

Although I enjoy reading reviews, this is the first, or at least, second I have written. Firstly this is a great product if you are a serious music lover I would highly reccomend it. My iTunes has nearly 20,000 tracks and is my main and only music repositery, it is hooked up through my Hi Fi. Because I had to reinstall, my iWow would not accept my serial and I was gutted, iWow made such an improvement in clarity and nuance that I would have been lost without it. After reading other comments about zero support, it was with some trepidation that I got in touch to sort my problem out- within 1 hour I had a reply telling me the Technical department would work to resolve it in the next couple of days.....Hummmmm!!!.......BUT.... Within another half hour another email came telling me they had reset my account and....Hey Presto, I was back "in business". Couldn't fault the service. Maybe they did have problems, but they have certainly sorted them out now!!!
As for the gripes about the new version and no auto genre, there was a well documented bug that meant that if iTunes crashed, it would keep starting again and would not shut down- this was because of the "genre detection" daemon that controlled the auto genre thing. It was a nice idea that would not implement, and if, like me, you had 40 or more different genres, it just would not work!!
All in all, I would view this app as an absolute necessity, I think that once you have tried it, there is no way you are not going to buy it!!!!!

SRS iWOW Premium for iTunes ReviewIn for headaches if you want to go revert to version 2 - Version: 3.0, 3/5/2009 07:19PM PST

Version 3 removes my favorite feature from version 2. Autopresets. The ability of iWOW to detect what kind of song you were playing based on genre and adjust to an appropriate preset. This was wonderful to have, if it wasn't alway perfectly accurate. It was accurate enough that I would deal with the rare mistakes. With 3.0 you must manually adjust the preset for each song, and there was no way to permanently assign a preset to a song. This would make up for losing autopresets.

The failure of iWOW 3 is that once I deleted it, iWOW 2 refuses to install. I get an error telling me a newer version already exists.
