jflaster1Works well and is very fast. and the Author is very good at responding to support requests and investigating bugs.
Perfect for taking advantage of Sun or Linux Workstation/Server with a monitor to use as a extra screen for a MAC.
I'm using it with a macbook connected to 24" display and then connecting up to TightVNC running on a Solaris 10 Workstation
Just the ticket for a MacBook and/or iBook

ckleganYou've got to hand it to the author of this code... he wrote two useful programs to work together when he found there was nothing out there to do what he (and I) needed.
So, I use this on a MacBook Intel machine (which didn't have dual monitor mode, except for mirroring displays) and I use an iBook G4 (both Tiger) as the second display. I also installed Screen Spanning Doctor, on the suggestion in ScreenRecycler troubleshooting section. That suggestion alone was worth a lot.
On price point... even if a second monitor would work here, $25 is a fair price to pay if this is what you need - either to put a second computer to use as a second monitor, or to get dual-screen capability when it would otherwise be impossible.

Robert L. PolandFast response from the author.
But for $30 I removed it.
$30 is a big step towards getting an extra 20 inch flat screen monitor.

No Opensource used - that's why it's fast - Version: 1.02 build 1044, 6/13/2007 09:55PM PST
Jolly alias Patrick
ScreenRecycler is the first and only program of it's kind. It just uses the VNC protocol, cause in the beginning I thought that writing ScreenRecycler would be enough, as there are dozens of free VNC clients out there - I was wrong.
I even had to write JollysFastVNC to have a fast VNC client, There is not even one VNC client out there that's even close keeping up with the traffic ScreenRecycler generates.
Do not speculate on unknown grounds - Patrick
