Just bought this one..I.already own all the expensive, difficult to use framing programs and found this gem so will probably drop the others. I have been writing the developer and he responds immediately!!!
Now I will start making my own frames and really have some fun.

The image color is messed up - Version: 2.0b2, 1/7/2008 04:09PM PST

The last version worked great (1.6) but this version seems to modify the entire color cast of the image. All we want is a frame, why would it mess with the image? Or am I doing something stupid?

The developer is very responsive and open to new ideas. He is constantly working on improving and refining this useful program. He has added a comparison feature where you can compare 3 different sets of custom mattes and frames of your choosing with just the click of a button. The decison making process just got a whole lot easier when it comes to selecting mattes and frames.
Ideas for future revisions:
1. Multiple mattes for one image.
2. Otional white beveled edges for mattes (just like in real life).
3. Ability to frame multiple images within one frame.
4. Texture options for mattes and frames (i.e. metal, wood, plastic, linen, velour, etc.).
If you like (and use) this program, then please help support further development by paying the modest registration fee. Disclaimer: I am not related to, have any affiliation with, or know the developer in any way. I am just a customer who likes this program.

Image Framer is a handy little program if you want to quickly add a single matt and a frame color to an image, then export it in various file formats. Boom. Done.
You can change the size of the image while retaining the aspect ratio, then once your frame and matt are selected, you can export the finished product in one of several popular file formats ( JPEG, TIFF, etc. ). The user interface is clean and simple and it is very easy to use.
Now for the limitations ... While Image Framer is a good start, it is limited in its scope. For example you can not add multiple matts, or select custom textures for frames or matts, therefore you can't simulate a metal frame vs a wood frame, or a linen matt vs a velour matt. The colors are basic and could benefit from custom styles and textures.
No doubt the limitations of this program are due to the fact that it is a brand new product just released for the first time. It needs some development time and constructive user feedback in order for it to reach its true potential. I have no doubt this will evolve into a very useful program.
I contacted the devloper with some ideas and he was very receptive to trying new things. He will be refining this little gem over time. I am glad to pay the registration fee to support further development of this program.
Here are my suggestions for new features:
1. Ability to add MULTIPLE MATTS to each picture.
2. Custom FRAME TEXTURES ( i.e. metal vs wood, etc. ).
3. Alow MULTIPLE IMAGES to be framed together ( collage ).
Bottom Line: Try this program for free for 7 days. If you like it, pay the $12 registration fee to support further development. Your registration fee is good for all future releases through 2.X. Even as it exists today, this is a very handy, easy to use program that does exactly what is says.

It's usage is very user-friendly and intuitive, and it has a lot of frames and features like shadows etc. It takes only a minute to create very professional-looking results :-)
