Product Description:

Search, Download, Subscribe, Share. Xtorrent makes torrents super easy.

Enter your keywords and Xtorrent instantly searches torrent sites all across the web. It's that simple.

Results begin popping up immediately in a simple table view, ranked by quality. You can even browse the contents of search results before you download.

Once you've found your torrent, just click 'download'. Search and download within a single app - pioneered by Xtorrent.

What's new in this version:

New in Xtorrent 2 is an open search feature that gives you control over the sites used to search.

Xtorrent 2 lets you choose from a roster of popular torrent search engines, picking only the sites of interest to you. If your favorite torrent site isn't included for some reason, you can easily add it and Xtorrent will begin using it for searches.

Xtorrent 2 introduces Xcore, a new torrent engine written from the ground up exclusively for Mac OS X. It's 100% Cocoa and uses the latest technologies in Mac OS X Leopard. The result is a lightweight, stable experience that's optimized for the Mac.

Under-the-hood improvements are great, but Xtorrent 2 also makes the super easy download user experience even better. It's now even easier to manage your downloads with the addition of a straightforward download queue. It's easy to use - just tell Xtorrent how many simultaneous downloads to allow and the app takes care of the rest. Newly added inline controls make it easy to pause, resume downloads, and override the queue if you so desire.

New in Xtorrent 2, if you find a torrent that you'd like to share, just right-click on it and you will be able to post it to Twitter. Xtorrent automatically shortens the URL for you.

Xtorrent 2 and Xcore undergo continuous optimization. In particular, Xtorrent 2 locates and downloads search results substantially faster than before.

Xtorrent 2 automates the hassle of configuring ports on routers. It talks to your router via UPNP or NAT-PMP (for Apple Airport wifi devices) to properly configure the required ports.

Xtorrent Reviewpainful - Version: 2.0 (v83), 12/1/2009 09:09AM PST

I really liked v. 1 - then I had some issues and was convinced to upgrade to 2.0. Now it sucks - mind I didn't get Pro. I was helping a friend with her Mac and got her to buy the pro version. Her downloads get stuck too and she has to quit the app and restart it.

It's a great app in it's utility - it really does everything you need it to do and it's dead easy. But this new version has issues and the dude won't get back to you. What's with it turning up the same results no matter what you search for: Herding Code, Librivox, Blinkenlichton etc?

I don't think the price is unreasonable.

What is a better Torrent program that's this easy to use?

I made the mistake of purchasing this on the advice of a rather naive friend; it was a day later when I went looking for documentation so I could optimize the settings and -- there is none! Plus, search results have one or two relevant items mixed in with hundreds of unrelated results -- for instance, a search for old "Jack Benny" radio programs produced 70's music collections, the history of pop music, and a polish music collection. I have tried to add other torrent sites to the search engine (which has dialogue boxes to do just that) and adding the sites just doesn't work. I paid for PRO which is supposed to give you more search results and faster downloading and there is absolutely no improvement over the free version. Plus it gives you no information about who is downloading from you, how fast it's going out, what peers you're connecting to, etc. I would stay far away from this; it's useless.
