I have not experienced any problems with the auto snapshot feature - it works fine for me; exacly as described.

Good piece of software which is now part of my everyday software kit bag. Love it.

Relaunch Reviewgreat idea, however does not work - Version: 1.3.6, 12/16/2006 04:48AM PST

i downloaded the software and set the auto snapshot to occur once every 15 minutes. It never saved automatically, i had to do 2 manual ones, what it does do automatically is tell me my demo period is over after one day of using it every time i turn my computer on. It seems to still have the same functionality as it did when i first downloadit it which means i have to manually save a snap shot. Once this gets worked out the idea is pretty cool but I really have not been able to test it out as much as it should be because no auto snapshot

Relaunch ReviewSTEROIDS! - Version: 1.3.6, 12/10/2006 11:37AM PST

A launcher with steroids, now in Italian too! Do you want to have a desktop exactly like the one you left when your wife/husband/child said you had to shut down your MAC because of that dinner at your friends'? No problem! Use Relaunch, and when you restart your machine, magic!, here it is: your desktop with all your applications and the documents you left too.

Indispensable.

I confirm: very nice little intelligent simple app.

TO THE DEVELOPER: if you want, send me all the dialogs of your app, and i will traslate them in Italian and Spanish, so you will have an Italian and a Spanish localized version of your app, and for free :-)

Relaunch ReviewI DO RECOMMEND THIS APP - Version: 1.3.3, 10/19/2006 12:12PM PST

I higly recommend this app.

The developer is extremely kind, and Relaunch is one of the best simple ideas ever seen for mac OSX.

I suggested some ideas, and he is yet working on them. I would like to suggest a new one: when Relaunch opens, it asks if i would like to open the latest saved snapshot, but that little window is istantly submerged by my open log-in apps (Opera window, for example), so I think it would be nice to find a solution. Thanks again.

Relaunch ReviewEffective system-wide workset manager - Version: 1.3.3, 10/18/2006 01:10PM PST

This program addresses a need that I have had for a long time. It memorizes all the open programs and in many cases each of their open windows. Why is this a big deal? For one reason, with tons of RAM and a stable operating system that never crashes, I find myself working months between reboots. I often get a complex configuration of programs and files open, and when Apple releases a system update (which usually requires a reboot), I find myself putting off installing it simply because it is so much hassle to reconstruct my workspace afterwards.

The more normal use of Relaunch will be to save worksets for different tasks. You may think that this functionality is available in other products, but AFAIK it is not. Some remember only running applications, but not open files/windows. Yes, you can make folders of aliases for some worksets, but hey, saving work is why we use computers, right? So let Relaunch do the work for you.

I can see some other areas where this program might be improved. Apparently, it is no small task to discern which files some programs have open, and thus it seems that each program needs to be treated as a separate case by the developer--thus, the list of such programs is growing but already substantial. (Relaunch remembers all _running_ programs but not necessarily their open files.)

I can also see some kind of interface for editing worksets and moving programs and/or files between them.

The developer has responded almost instantly to my e-mails and fixed a small bug within hours.

This isn't up to five-star status yet IMO because of the features that I've mentioned that I'd like to see, but use it as-is and you'll be very pleased. The program is insanely easy to use and the price is very reasonable.

Relaunch ReviewPROMISING - Version: 1.3.2, 10/16/2006 09:01AM PST

fioretralefoglie

I believe it is a very promising app.

TO THE DEVELOPER

Please, consider this: if, say, i have word still open, but i close my window with the last document i was working on, and a snapshot in which that word document is in, that snapshot will NOT open that document again if i do not use the "Close all open applications" function. A pity! Second: What about the possibility of a submenu directely INSIDE your app menu, with all the available snapshots? Thanks, and, keep up the good work!

Relaunch Developer NoteVersion 1.3 - Save multiple snapshots and more - Version: 1.3, 10/1/2006 09:45AM PST

Hopefully version 1.3 addresses the most commonly requested feature of Relaunch - the ability to save and launch multiple snapshots of applications.

There's more information and a screencast of Relaunch in action available on my site : http://wiredupandfiredup.co.uk/Relaunch/index.html
