In this game, you are elected as president (or Prime minister) and you have to rule the country by implementing policies and rules. The goal being to make some categories happy and others not so unhappy. This seems a good idea that can be useful to learn «how things work». BUT what is not said is that the whole game is filled with right-wing ideology and that the purpose of the game is to let you understand that «there is no alternative» to quote Margaret Thatcher. There would be too many examples of this, but when high taxes are qualified «punitive», that their raise can only discontempt «middle incomes», that you are ruined by tax evasion as soon as you do so (and that there is no way you can fight against it), that crime rate can only be fought by strong police forces, and so on, proves on which side the creators of this game are and, moreover, that these dogmas are proven to be incorrect.

To the person who wrote the last comment: lol - I suppose you'd want to fight crime with smaller police forces? Of course higher taxes affect the middle class - even a higher tax specifically targeted at the wealthy will inevitably lead to a higher burden on middle class, as the wealthy will find a way to shift the burden.
The game is not really propaganda. I guess you'd have to be further to the right politically to notice this. On a lark, I tried eliminating the state health care plan. What a disaster! Everyone gets sick. Nobody could figure out they should take their tax cut money and spend it on regular doctor visits, I guess.
The way to do well in this game is by cutting spending ... you can have lots and lots of programs, as long as you keep them at low levels. If you try to eliminate programs entirely - which is what a conservative would try - you get hammered.
