Product Description:
The Unarchiver is a much more capable replacement for "BOMArchiveHelper.app", the built-in archive unpacker program in Mac OS X. The Unarchiver is designed to handle many more formats than BOMArchiveHelper, and to better fit in with the design of the Finder. It can also handle filenames in foreign character sets, created with non-English versions of other operating systems. Supported file formats include Zip, Tar-GZip, Tar-BZip2, Rar, 7-zip, LhA, StuffIt and many other more or less obscure formats. It is localized into Japanese, German, Spanish, French, Portugese and Russian.

- Fixed a bug that caused password-protected Zip archives to fail to extract.
- Added support for zip archives created by ZipIt.
- Added a Dutch localization by Jonathan.
- Fixed a rare RAR bug, and some GUI quirks.

I have used this program for months and months with no problem. After the 2.0 upgrade, I suddenly cannot open certain password protected .zip files I had no problem with in the past. How do I downgrade to 1.6?

I got this to open a .sit file -- I didn't want any more of that stuffit stuff for me on my hard drive.
The first time I ran it it put up a preferences window with a checkbox for each of the formats it could handle. I checked the checkbox for .sit files.
Then when I opened my .sit file it went directly into The Unarchiver and it opened it with no problem.
So, for my simple use, the app could not have been easier or worked better.

It is soooo fast at unarchiving files, but unfortunatly it wont open password protected 7zip files. Shame...
