Peacock ReviewUseful but not perfect - Version: 0.28, 1/25/2010 07:14AM PST

It's good to have a mac-dedicated GC-MS analysis program, especially one that's free. However this program is let down by its stability. In my experience it only works for looking at elution times/peak heights. The program always crashes out when I try to identify compounds using a library. It's a shame, because the program's actually pretty straightforward to use. If this gets fixed (and also if a window is made that tells you the X and Y coordinates of the cursor on the elution graph), then the program would begin to rival the alternatives that are available on PCs.

And for making it free! This isn't exactly for most people, but unlike most people I carry around a portable mass spectrometer around with me in my pocket-protected shirt pocket. Now I can analyze compound samples where ever I go with my mass spectrometer and the macbook pro that was surgically attached to my pelvis!
