Product Description:

Social network browser that makes it easy to organize, browse, and find new friends on MySpace. Spyder makes it easy to keep in touch with your friends or fan-base by message or comment. Add as many friends as you want, Spyder allows you to send friend requests too. Spyder also helps you manage all your accounts, whether you have just a personal account or an additional band or business account you can easily switch between your different accounts in Spyder. And for people that remember faces better than names Spyder downloads users pictures automatically.

What's new in this version:

  • Improved performance when importing users from a browse.
  • Truncate selection feature added (you can find it from the main menu: View > Selection > Modify > Truncate...)
  • Added option to Sidebar preferences to supress creation of "Skipped..." folders.
  • There is a known issue in Mac OS X 10.5 with hangs occurring during a save ( rdar://problem/5705356 ). Apple is aware of the issue and is taking the matter seriously, hopefully 10.5.7 will have a fix for this. Unfortunately they've informed me that there is no known work around I could implement. From my experience trying to work through this issue I've discovered that you may improve your chances of not running into this issue if you avoid manually saving the document. Spyder will automatically save periodically and when you close a document or quit the application anyways.
  • Fixed bulletin editing. The correct bulletin will now come up for editing instead of the last one in the list.
  • Hopefully dates will now show up in messages for users in different locales other than the US.
  • Fixed random crashing bug when entering CAPTCHAs.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.5 Intel
  • Mac OS X 10.5 PPC

Spyder ReviewSimply does nothing - Version: 2.0.46, 8/13/2009 04:51AM PST

I used an older version for a while, which worked fine; gave it up when everybody started to use Captchas. The current version does not do anything, at least not in the tryout version. When I try to log in to one of my accounts, I get a cryptic error message.

Spyder now offers Captcha assistance, but they sell each and every Captcha operation for a somewhat outlandish price. You can wind up paying thousands; but I suspect that's an option for mass spammers.

If it worked, it would be worth the money, but you'll spend as much time force-quitting this app as you will using it.

It is also *woefully* buggy, to the point of uselessness in many situations.

On top of that, the developer/support has failed to respond to a single polite email that i've sent them.

This App has potential, but i would have to say AVOID at the moment

since version 2.0 you can't use Spyder while having Little Snitch running.
usually you can chose to allow any connection to whatever application but somehow it does not work for this one.
asked the dev who was really willing to help me out but he finally gave up on this 'bug' so basically, I stopped using it too.
