Hazel ReviewExtremely useful - Version: 2.3, 7/13/2009 09:44AM PST

I've just started using the product but already its saved me a huge amount of time and effort. I make a lot of screen captures and now Hazel tags them automatically with the display profile, while another "batch" can optionally be used to convert to sRGB. I've got the product setup to auto delete old emails in specific folders for Mail. Tech support is superb! I emailed prior to buying about a script issue and got a fix that day. The only thing keeping a five star across the boards is yes, its a bit pricey but considering what I charge <g> and how its saved me time, I can't really complain.

With this update I no longer have a menu bar icon for Hazel, even though I have the preference for it checked.

for something I can and quickly do *much* better myself (thank you) for *free.*

Still, I can't help but wonder if Merlin Mann uses this program.

Then again, I paid $100 for Tiger. So, *20 percent* of that --- just to do what I'm already doing (easily and well enough for free) --- for another One Trick Pony --- seems a little steep. At least for me.

YMMV.

Hazel ReviewAll I need is a mint on my pillow! - Version: 2.1.2, 1/6/2008 06:57PM PST

Hazel is the best system cleaning program I have found. She takes a few minutes to set up but like most things - an ounce of prevention ... AppZapper and TidyUp are also terrific for their own purpose and I use them both but Hazel runs quietly in the background, finding little things I certainly did not know were in my system and saving me much time and formerly wasted space. She never causes problems with other apps and doesn't eat much (memory). If only she would leave a mint on my pillow!

To the guy who is too cheap to even take a look at this (Joe): If you'd not spend so much time trying to get around the anti-piracy issue, you'd find yourself enjoying this program.

To the guy whose cutoff point for shareware is $10 (Andrew): If that's your cutoff point, that's up to you but I'll tell you that you're missing out on this great application as well as a slew of many others that are $25 and under. I don't give myself a cutoff point but rather I try individual apps and if I really like them and find them very useful, then I buy, whatever the price. Some apps I've bought multiple licenses simply to support the developer.

I have been using Hazel for a couple of months now and find that it, more than any other application, has helped organize my Desktop and Documents folders. My wife was pretty impressed so I bought a license for her Mac as well. Now we can actually see the Desktop pattern that once was covered by hundreds of docs and folders.

OK, so the license scheme isn't much to our liking but I look at it this way: The developer wants to be sure that he's compensated for his time. He is extremely responsive to questions and provided me with a couple of quick tips when I was desperate. One of my problems was quickly resolved and incorporated in the next release.

Hazel ReviewSimply WONDERFUL - Version: 2.1.1, 11/5/2007 10:49AM PST

This wonderful utility changes the concept of how you organize your files on a Mac. Since I bought it two weeks ago my Mac has changed into a very orderly Mac. Hazel takes care of all my files which are automatically moved into their designated locations without further intervention. Words simply cease to express its usefulness! If you are looking for total order and peace of mind then you owe it to yourself to give it a try. Fariborz AMIRSHAHI - Verona (Italy)

I would love to try this out but it's way too expensive.<br>Maybe if they spent less time on the anti-pirate features their development costs wouldn't be so high :-)

Hazel ReviewNice shareware, a bit overpriced. - Version: 1.1.4, 2/10/2007 05:06PM PST

$16 a bit much for this one-trick pony for my purposes. If it were $8 or $10, I might consider buying it. I own a couple dozen $10 and under shareware apps. That's sort of the sweet spot for me.
