Product Description:
Hazel is your personal housekeeper, organizing and cleaning folders based on rules you define. Hazel can also manage your trash and uninstall applications. Organize your files using a familiar rule interface. Filter on the file's name, type, date, the site or email address it came from and more. And do more than just file. You can set color labels, Spotlight keywords and comments and even archive files. Hazel also cleans, sporting options to clean out incomplete and duplicate downloads. In addition, Hazel can manage your Trash for you, relieving you of having to empty it yourself. All this is done automatically in the background allowing you to focus on your real work.
What's new in this version:
User interface changes:
- Fixed attribute picker having partial results when it is dismissed before it is finished loading and then brought back up.
- Fixed bug where duplicating a rule with a shell script would result in the shell scripts being "linked".
- Fixed crash when closing the rule interface after editing an AppleScript. Would happen if Script Assistant was enabled in Script Editor.
- Fixed error logged to console when compiling a blank AppleScript.
- Fixed rule preview not indicating possible dupes.
- Minor UI fixes.
Core changes:
- Fixed temporary files filling up the trash over time when an unarchiving operation failed over and over.
- Fixed sporadic crash when logging a failed unarchiving operation.
- Should better deal with the rare situation of a metadata field no longer existing.
- Fixed some memory leaks.
- Miscellaneous fixes.

With this update I no longer have a menu bar icon for Hazel, even though I have the preference for it checked.

for something I can and quickly do *much* better myself (thank you) for *free.*
Still, I can't help but wonder if Merlin Mann uses this program.
Then again, I paid $100 for Tiger. So, *20 percent* of that --- just to do what I'm already doing (easily and well enough for free) --- for another One Trick Pony --- seems a little steep. At least for me.
YMMV.
