Product Description:

CrossOver Mac allows you to install your favorite Windows applications and games on Mac OS X. CrossOver includes an easy to use, single click interface, which makes installing Windows software simple and fast. Once installed, your application integrates seamlessly in OS X. Just click and run your application directly from the OS X Finder. Clicking a Windows file or document - including email attachments - will launch the appropriate Windows program, allowing you to work on the files. Best of all, you do it all easily and affordably, without needing a Microsoft operating system license.

Adding your favorite Windows software is easy, using their normal installation CDs. Just place a Windows CD in your Mac, and CrossOver will recognize it and offer to begin the installation process. CrossOver then completes the installation and configures your application to run on your Mac. That's all there is to it.

What's new in this version:

  • Mac OS X specific changes:
    • Fixed a bug in the 'eject' button. Previously many multi-CD installs failed when performed in any non-default bottle.
Now multi-CD installations should succeed in any bottle.
    • Fixed a problem with registering the Demo version in non-English locales.
    • A few minor improvements in rendering performance. More coming in the next release.
    • Fix color printing on some printers.
    • Fixed a catastrophic failure that arose on systems with certain PostScript Type 1 fonts installed.
  • Application fixes:
    • Fixed some Outlook 2003 crashes, in particular one related to right-clicks and one occuring on startup on some systems.
    • Fixed handling of emails containing quotes in Outlook 2003.
    • Fixed some copy/paste issues in Office 2003.
    • Fixed Lotus Notes hangs on certain emails.
    • Now all Internet Explorer installs will include DCOM98. This improves stability in many ways. In particular, it fixes a crash during printing.
    • Fixed an installation bug with Quicken 2006.
  • General CrossOver fixes and improvements:
    • Updated the timezone information to comply with the revised 2007 DST rules.
    • Fixed a few bugs in the 5.0 to 6.0 upgrade path.
    • Fixed an issue with running Office 2003, Photoshop and FrameMaker in managed bottles.
    • Updated the Portuguese translation.
    • Updated the French translation.

I just been able to run Microsoft Visual Foxpro 9 on MacOsX 10.5.5 with CrossOver 7.1. What a pleasure ! It loads in 18 seconds compared to minutes to launch Parallel desktop. And it is far more reactive than within parallel !
