Snippet Monkey ReviewUnstable, inconsistent, keeps hanging - Version: 1.3, 4/16/2007 09:14PM PST

I bought the package deal (see the developer's website) and am using Snippet Monkey and Snard actively. Unfortunately on a Mac Book Pro 17 with 10.4.9 neither is stable or consistent. Snippet Monkey intermittently hangs on me after trying to use a simple text only clipping. And Snard would (again intermittently) not "activate" the short cuts I have added - they appear on the drop down menu, but are greyed out and cannot be clicked.

Hopefully the developer will update these otherwise potentially very useful applets - much like CopyPaste which is also not fully compatible with 10.4.9 it seems. Until they are made more stable and consistent they are not suitable for day to day work especially when time is critical - I've just wasted 30 minutes trying to get this one snippet to work.

I'd love to rate this much more highly - but if it doesn't work, it doesn't matter how many features or how useful it COULD be or how easy it is to use - it simply does not do what it is supposed to do.

Snippet Monkey ReviewNice and Simple - Version: 1.0b1, 8/23/2006 03:22PM PST

Thus far, Snippet Monkey seems to do exactly what it says and does it well. The application appears to be rock solid and stable. I like its simplicity. Two things I'd like to see added: The option to have a snippet fire only with a pre-chosen trigger(s) (space, tab, return, etc.). Also, allow Snippet Monkey so import "snippets" from similar other apps, such as TypeIt4Me or Spell Catcher (SC may be too much to ask). Or how about allowing import from a text file?
