Looks interesting but a damn shame that the report it makes locks the whole thing up. No close button I can see on my MacBook 800 pixel high screen.

Considering the cost of RAID hardware, the creative value the assets stored there, and your time -- RAIDaid is an absolute bargain. The clean, clear interface, and superb feedback make setting up even the most complex RAID config simple and easy, even for a novice.

In a day when people will pay what they do to drink the dregs of $tarbucks -- it saddens me to see someone criticize great software because they don't appreciate it's value.

RAIDaid is well-crafted, and IMHO well-worth several times the very modest shareware fee.

RAIDaid ReviewNice, but a little much - Version: 1.10, 8/21/2006 01:12PM PST

I agree with brandonedling below. This is a nice application, but it seems a little expensive considering most people will get use of this at most, once or twice a year. I mean, how often is the average server admin configuring XServe RAIDs? It might be more usefull if you happen to be an Apple Server consultant who runs around and helps clients configure XServes and XServe RAIDs. For anyone else, it won't be used nearly as much.

Beyond that one issue, this is a nice, well designed and helpful application. Even with the demo restrictions, I was able to see how it could be helpful in determining the best use of RAiD configs and disk space.

Consider coming down just a little in price to around the $12.95-$14.95 range and I'd buy it. Even if I did only use it once or twice a year.
