I ran the application, opened a 41MB TIFF image, and watched it crash.

ChocoFlop ReviewSurprisingly Cool!! - Version: 0.51, 11/3/2006 12:46AM PST

This little app is a surprisingly good Photoshop challenger.
I gave it a try out of desperation because I use an intel Mac, and I must say that I am very impressed!
As soon as it's a little more stable (though it is already very workable, just save often), and the tools refresh a little quicker, I suspect the author will start getting some hate mail from Adobe.
Seriously, it's pretty upsetting that, a year after Apple announced the transition to intel chips, Adobe still hasn't released Photoshop for intel Macs!!
What's worse, those poor saps who bought Adobe CS 2 for their intel machines will have to pony up another half of the purchase price just to have their overpriced software run as it should!!! (And don't tell me it's hard to port Photoshop to intel Mac: at over $600 a copy, they could afford to hire every programmer on the planet and still keep their stockholders happy!)
Cheers, Peter

I wasn't expecting much when I downloaded this and almost over looked it while doing my daily search of updates, but I'm happy I did. This has some stuff that I was REALLY missing in Adobe Photo Deluxe. I like to do fun stuff and repair/colorize old photos. This little app is loaded with cool stuff. My first test was making a pic of me into a human alien hybrid, I'm still laughing. It's a little buggy but not real bad, it's only going to get better. This is a keeper.

ChocoFlop Troubleshooting ReportI really would want to use this but... - Version: 0.45, 8/27/2006 01:49AM PST

it's horribly buggy on my Powerbook G4 1GHz (e.g. the image shows up as a distorted version of my desktop wallpaper rather that the intended picture, undo doesn't work, refuses to quit - have to force-quit, etc etc etc). I'm not sure why it appears so buggy on my system...

I'm not rating this product as it's beta, but will try some later version i guess...

ChocoFlop CommentaryMost interesting use of CoreImage so far... - Version: 0.45, 8/25/2006 02:00PM PST

As a Photoshop user, I found ChocoFlop to be instantly comprehensible, and the cleverest utilization of the CoreImage filters so far. I'm not giving it a rating until it reaches a final release but I'd suggest people try the beta. It is very well done.

this apps seems to be very promising! Almost seems like the low-budget Photoshop I´ve been waiting for - with CoreImage support!
