Yeah so I can't even launch the program, it immediately quits and then "BugReporter" pops up and runs for a while then also quits. Running Leopard. Halp?

Atlantis ReviewThe best MU* client so far - Version: 0.9.2, 8/19/2006 04:06PM PST

I've been trying to find an MU* client for quite some time now that meets all my needs - proper use of OS X's inbuilt dictionary, auto-logging, excellent scripting capabilities, keybinding, an attractive interface, etc..
I met them in Atlantis. I've tried the gauntlet of other OS X clients, some not even built specifically for my operating system - Trebuchet, for instance, works well, but is system-resource heavy, does not work with spellchecking, and it's key-binding system is confusing. I couldn't use it for my mudding.
Cantrip, otherwise the best Mud client out there for OS X, Had several quirks that were unfreindly to Mucking. Logs had to be started manually, several keyboard shortcuts were unavaliable to be altered, and the interface was awkward because of the cursor being black if the input window background was set to black.
Atlantis, being still in development, is updated very frequently by it's coder, and it is extremely customizeable with an easy-to-understand highlights, events, window spawns and variables system, and a world-system that inherits settings from the parent world to character-children.
The interface of Atlantis melds seamlessly with OSX - while it is relatively bare, the windows have clear margins so that the black of a window does not dissappear upon an application it overlaps, and the toolbar can be customized as you see fit with user-defined buttons.
For anyone wishing to enjoy a Muck, Mud, Mush, Moo or similar text-based game on a Macintosh, Atlantis is the client to choose.

The UI is beautiful, and I like how flexible the app is. However, I generally won't touch a MU* client that doesn't support auto-logging.

Atlantis ReviewOSX MU*ing Nirvana - Version: 0.8.9, 7/29/2006 06:04PM PST

Atlantis is most definitely the best GUI MU* client available for the OSX platform today. Having been with the system since the closed beta, I am still impressed every day with the software. It's super stable, full of nearly every feature you could wish for(and if it doesn't have what you're looking for, drop Sparks, the developer a line at the forums, she's awesome about trying to add features people would find useful), and has a small army of people available to help out new users to the system. It's fairly intuitive to use, neat and clean. And my favourite feature: Growl-Compatible.

Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Atlantis ReviewWithout a doubt, the best Mac mu* client. - Version: 0.8.9, 7/29/2006 04:13PM PST

Man, I made the rounds. Savitar, Cantrip, Jamocha, tf, raw telnet - - none of them were very good at all. Atlantis, though, is the best client I've seen for the Mac hands down. It's stable; it has all the features you need and most of the ones you -want- and (woah) is being actively developed. It's so good it makes me want a Windows port, lol. True, the documentation is lacking - but for the most part it's easy enough to use that you can muddle through until the documentation is completed.

Atlantis Developer NoteFirst public release... - Version: 0.8.8, 7/21/2006 04:07AM PST

SeattleSparks
Atlantis has been in a closed pre-beta state for some time, and this is its first public beta; I've been under pressure to get one out for a while! The documentation is, unfortunately, a bit lacking, but the performance and stability should be fine. Documentation will be put together over the next little while, during the public beta.

The main thing other than documentation which is unfinished is the Perl scripting API, which is used for more advanced scripting than the event system can handle. I'll be working with the beta folks to flesh out (and eventually document) the Perl API that Atlantis uses.

In the meantime, it should be pretty solid and stable, I hope, and you can find help on the forums at http://www.riverdark.net/board/ -- the original pre-beta team of testers is starting to hang out there, so as to help answer any questions.

Hopefully people find this useful, to some degree or another! :)
