Product Description:

Diabetes Logbook X is a free, or charity donation-ware, logbook for tracking and reporting diabetes related events: blood glucose level, insulin units (for two insulins), carbohydrates consumed, medication taken, ketone tests, events and notes.

It's your data so you can export the data as a text file and import data from other diabetes sources, currently: Diabetes Logbook X export files, Logbook DM v3.3 for Palm (CSV export file), UTS Diabetes v1.3 (saved email file).

Five types of reports are available and are based on the reports we have used with our Diabetes medical team for over 2 years: detailed list, summary lists for each day period, glucose logbook, plus graphs and notes.

Supported languages are: English, French, German, and Italian.

Diabetes Logbook X is freeware, but donations to Diabetes UK, http://www.diabetes.org.uk/Get_involved/Donate/, are welcome as this will help my young son who has Type 1 diabetes. If you already donate to a diabetes charity, please don't double donate, unless you want too.

Note: To migrate from the default English language to a localised version, to ensure that the assigned Period names are re-generated into the localised language, you must:
  1. export all exisiting events using the Export facility
  2. delete all events
  3. import the export data file

What's new in this version:

  1. Added support for creating and updating the Contacts' details in Address Book.
  2. Updated and expanded built-in help [English & French]: now uses Help Viewer.
  3. Updated graph reports: Added BMI graph; Scatter graph reports improved; Reduced thickness indicator lines.
  4. Updated detailed and summary reports: Carbs and health in a separate column; Option to not show insulins; BMI added to health data.
  5. Updated all reports: Most unicode characters are displayed correctly; Error correction for dates older than 01/01/1970.
  6. Adding/editing events: a lower date limit has been set to 01/01/1970.
  7. Added md5 checksum test on reporting script before running the script.
  8. Fixed bug: export files saved using a system number format that does not use '.' as the decimal mark may not have been handled correctly during import.
This is a recommended update to all users.

Diabetes Logbook X CommentaryLove it! - Version: 1.4.7, 4/21/2008 06:04PM PST

This is WAY better than maintaining my own spread sheets. The bar graphs are most helpful and I like the tiny size of the data-input report. I just wish it would sync with my Lifescan One-touch meter, so I wouldn't have to hand-type in all of the numbers (takes me hours sometimes - especially when I forget to switch out the mmol with dl, or don't change the date/time properly). Life scan only just started selling a USB cable with their PC software - Have you approached them with your package? I'd buy the cable and software for what they aas if it worked with my formats. THansk fro being Palm friendly - here's wondering if I should get a n i-phone of a blackberry in the future to maintain sync. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you so much for sharing all the work you've done!
From a newly diagnosed type 1, 41 yr old in Alaska.

A very useful and necessary piece of Software for T1DM management.
Any possibility of providing a Linear Graph in the next Update?

Sorry to nitpick, but the description should say "caregivers" not "carers"
