Product Description:

FTPortal is an application for uploading files to specific folders of one or more FTP servers. You can create multiple copies of the application to conveniently upload files frequently into various folders on your FTP server. First, configure the FTP host, username and password using "Preferences." Then rename the application after the folder you want to upload to, or leave the name "FTPortal" to upload into the root folder. Second, drag one or more folders (or files) on top of the FTPortal application icon in the Finder or the main window to upload them to the folder.

What's new in this version:

  • The bundle's creator code was changed (from a value in use by another of my programs.)

  • Supports multiple FTP servers across multiple copies of the application. Two new File menu commands: "Show All Portals..." and "Clear All Portals..." display/clear the current list of configured portals.

  • "Folder" text field added to preferences window to specify the "default" folder, i.e. the FTP server directory to upload to when the app name is (or begins with) "FTPortal."

  • Logging now starts and stops when the preferences window is closed to update the window title and log file appropriately.

  • Supports "pre-configuration" files in application bundles Resources folder. The file is called "Preferences.txt" and consists of 4 entries, one per line (each line must end with a carriage return) : host, username, password and folder. Use the "PreferencesSample.txt" in the application Resources bundle as a template.

This seems like a useful "quick upload" concept although it's a little messier to have several copies of the app instead of having a list of bookmarks in one place like most ftp apps do. That only matters if you need to access many sites regularly. On a lighter note and the main reason for this post... Who names their hard drive "Prudence" ? LOL (see screen shot)
