Can it change all filenames by mp3-tags, too? - Version: 5.8.4, 1/15/2006 04:11PM PST

Can it change all filenames by mp3-tags, too? In the screenshots I can't find that options. iTunes is doing fine with editing my mp3 tags, but under the magic, my files really named like crap.
So can it automatically chnge all files in my folders to the Artist -title given by
mp3 tags?

Is it just me or does dragging and dropping a folder (or a file) into a player window not work in 10.4?
It did not seem to work in 5.8.2 either.

MP3 Rage will NOT be upgraded to read AAC files. Media Rage has been created to supercede MP3 Rage and it does read AAC files. Please check it out - Media Rage has almost all tools that MP3 Rage has, as well as some new ones, and most tools have been improved. Plus, it is more OSX friendly (it is fully multi-threaded, uses OSX widgets, etc.).
Great App

Once again great work.
I've have been using MP3 Rage for a long time now and it improves (as expected) with every build. Would love to see AAC support but I'm sure that will be implemented in the near future.
By far the best MP3 tool available.

Does what I want

This program does exactly what I want - tagging mp3s in bulk and individually. The change tag value problem that I encountered earlier is now cured with 5.8.4. The developer _is_ responsive to email. 5 Stars - nothing less - from me.
Typical normalize function - Version: 5.8.4, 9/1/2004 05:17PM PST

I don't know about this program, but usually the "normalize" function does not make all songs play back at the same (perceived) volume level as NickyCee implies below. Normalize sets the loudest or highest peak of a given audio file to a certain level, so if a highly-compressed song is normalized to the same level as a very dynamic song, the songs might peak at the same level, but could sound as if they have very different volume levels.

Does Not Normalize Volume!

Despite the clear claims of the product developer, MP3 Rage DOES NOT normalize MP3 volume! By the way, "normalize" is to make a bunch of MP3's from various sources all playback at the same volume level.
It's almost like one of those turn of the century medical devices with wild claims ("Cures cancer, tiredness, gout and woman's troubles!"). You strap it to your arm, all the lights blink, the buzzer sounds and...nothing happens!
In the same manner, MP3 Rage takes your MP3s through a beautiful interface and excitedly tells you that "Normalization is Complete!" The problem is nothing has changed.
Use "MP3 Gain" for normalization - it actually works!

Whatever you do, do not purchase this program. Im trying to rename and retag several hundred mp3s here at work, and Mp3 Rage has crashed over 20 times, and i keep using it because its the only thing availabe on this machine. Why would anyone pay for this software? i dont know. so don't. find something else and avoid the headache
