Mail Unread - good!

It's a little app, yes. I don't know why this has a 1 star rating. I happen to love the fact that I can look up at my menu bar at any time over any open application and instantly see how many emails have come in. I can immediately observe which mail box has what amount and call up the mail box from the menu. And... it's free. What's not to like?
slows mail.app to a crawl with 10.5.4

dunno if it's 10.5.4 version of the OS specifically but i do know that mail on my macbook pro was super sluggish for the past 2 weeks - processor running really high, beachball, etc. as a test i uninstalled mail unread menu (removed the app, the pref file, mail bundle and another file - be sure to remove all 4) and sure enough, mail became very responsive again immediately.
it's a shame because this is really handy on a laptop where you're hiding the dock and can't see mail's dock notification icon.. oh well.

I also didn't like that Mail has to be open to retrieve how many messages you have (unlike gmail notifier)
