However, the developer should, imho, not have disabled the recording feature in the demo.
Without it, I have no idea if this program will do it for me.
Otherwise, seems really good and straight forward.
Will test again, and perhaps buy, when I can test the recording.

This is pretty close to perfect! Very simple UI and easy to use compared to all the other DJ applications..and much cheaper! Best bang for buck out there.

Great program. Perfect for Strip Club DJ's. Very stable (I use it for a minimum 8 hours a shift without any crashes).

Wish List:
1. Playlists organized into folders like iTunes does (and like SoundJam did back in OS 9).
2. The ability to preview songs from the library or playlist without having to load the track onto a deck.
3. More Audio FX.
4. The ability to show and use multiple tool pallets instead of just 1 at a time.
5. A "Party Shuffle" like playlist for Automix so I can choose songs from multiple playlists for Automix to play.
6. Track time should display both elapsed time and time remaining concurrently.
7. "Library View Options" should have all of the same view options available in iTunes. For example, some songs I only know by track number (instead of track name).
8. Artwork doesn't show up on decks, but I think it's supposed to.
9. Track times that I've changed in id3 tags in iTunes don't show up in djay. If I set a song to start playing 25 seconds into the track, it should also work in djay, but it doesn't.

My friend is getting married this weekend, and she's on a real low budget - couldn't afford a DJ. She asked me to put together a bunch of songs to play for the reception, and I was just going to use iTunes and let it roll. I looked around for DJ programs, came across djay, and two nights before the event, I played around with it, and it's just what I needed!

I'm not a DJ, but this program is so easy to use that I'm confident that it's going to suit her needs seemlessly. I wasn't able to use some of the FairPlay-protected songs from iTMS, but I burned them to a disc, re-ripped them (without much noticable degradation), and I'm ready to go.

Karim, this is a great program, and you've helped some minimum-wage kids make a special night even better! Thank you very much!

djay ReviewLOVE IT!!! - Version: 1.1, 10/20/2006 07:52AM PST

Just started using DJAY and I must say i love it. It is exactly what I am after. The beat counting and 'sync' facility is very handy (if a little bit of a cheat?!) as I don't have one on my turntable mixer. To be able to mix all kinds of strange stuff that I've got in my itunes is a real pleasure. Can't wait to get all my vinly ripped now.
One small problem - having trouble with the cueing using imic. I've probably got it set up wrong, but the vertical fader has to be up to cue with the headphones. Kind of defeats the object of cueing. And the volume is very poor when cueing too. I'm sure this is down to me messing up the settings but a user forum would be great to get some guidance.
Thanks guys for a great piece of software. I'd recommend it to all my friends if they had a Mac, but they don't!! This might be the thing to get them to convert though.....

djay ReviewGreat But needs a couple of features - Version: 1.1, 8/9/2006 12:02AM PST

This is very good DJ software, but it lacks one feature that will keep me using Sam's Party Dj on my PC. It needs a play queue till empty feature with autofade. Don't get me wrong, I think this is the foundation of a great peice.

Great little piece of freeware. Seems intuitive and easy to use. Can anyone recommend a multi-output soundcard that works well with this?
