Horrible!!!! - Version: 1.4.3, 10/7/2009 11:30AM PST

Horrible interface, horrible manual. I found this thing lurking on my HD and I couldn't figure out what it was. Not obvious from the program itself, the About box, or the manual. Then when I figured out what it was, I couldn't figure out how to make it work. Definitely the most unintuitive interface I have ever seen running on a Mac. I can't understand why this thing gets such high ratings. First time I've found free software that wasn't worth the asking price. It's going into my trash right away.

Deafening noise - Version: 1.4.3, 9/4/2009 01:45PM PST

After having been prompted to update FStream to the recent version, I did so, but immediately on opening an .ogg livestream, I could not hear the nothing but a very loud, deafening noise of the type that turns up when there is no signal from an FM or TV transmitter. I tried FStream on another livestream in the .m3u format, and nothing but the deafening noise turned up. This happened in my Power Mac G5 with Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. Earlier the same day, the same version simply crashed on my old Power PC G4 with OS X 10.4 Tiger. The last working version of FStream was the 1.4.2.The noise was simply too much for my ears.

Trying to download an older version than 1.4.3 but I always get bounced back to the latest version. My problem with 1.4.3 is that I don't have the latest OS X. and for 1.4.3 the Operating System Requirements are;
This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:
* Mac OS X 10.5 Intel
* Mac OS X 10.5 PPC
How do I download 1.4.2 instead?

Super-good program for listening to radio streams. All of the necessary features, non of the uneccesary ones, and very good at connecting to multiple streams. If it could parse realaudio it would be perfect, but overall it's much better for radio than, say, VLC, which has an impossibly clunky media library and tends to crash.

I just LOVE this app. It's small, both in size and memory footprint, is skinable, has just the right features, and works beautifully. In some ways, it reminds me of the way MP3 players were before iTunes. I haven't tried this yet, but it's not inconceivable that you could script this App with Applescript to have it record streams to disk on a schedule (you could launch those scripts from iCal, for instance). Wow! There are pay apps (Like Audio Hijack Pro) that do that.

After installing the last update 1.4.1, I lost all of my Shout Cast stations. A few came back after a couple of restarts of the application but not all. Any fix for this?

I just love this little app. With every little update this seemingly perfect little program just keeps getting better. If you like internet radio, don't bother with the iTunes behemoth or browser plugins, let the lightweight and excellent-sounding FStream handle the job. It stores all of your favorite stations in an easily-accessible playlist, and also come's pre-loaded with a Shoutcast, SourceMac, and iTunes lists of internet radio stations. Everyone should find something they'll enjoy listening to without hogging precious computer resources in the process.
Love this application
