Yep CommentarySee no reason for upgrading to V2 - Version: 2.0.4, 11/11/2009 02:34AM PST

ediathome
I have downloaded the beta version of V2 and upgraded to 2.0.4 (demo version) and actually I don't see any reason for upgrading to V2. In my opinion adding support for other document types such as .doc or iwork files is no plus for the new version. The library gets very crowded and Apple's spotlight does a good enough job for searching documents. When I set the preferences to only manage .pdfs the other document types still show in the main window. I want to use this in connection with my ScanSnap scanner only for pdfs!!!

The change of the tagging system from V1 to V2 is not working very well for me. I upgraded the database as described in the manual. Still there are documents which were tagged in V1 and are not correctly tagged in V2.

So I think ironicsoftware still needs to work hard on this update.

Yep Troubleshooting Report2.04 Doesn't work for many people - Version: 2.0.4, 11/10/2009 02:30PM PST

If you're using v1.8 stay where you are!
Their website if full of reports (like mine) that report that 2.x does NOT find any PDF's.
That was a waste of an hour and a half....and $19 upgrade.

I'm pleased to see that Version 2.0.4 adds back the ability to edit the document creation date, which is a key piece of some workflows. This is clear evidence that the developers are paying attention to critical feedback from their customers.
