iXiu ReviewJust got it. Revised my rating - Version: 1.5, 12/26/2007 05:49AM PST

Ok I am giving this three stars to balance out my one star to two. I just figured out how this works. The confusion is also the developers fault. The help menu is under the apps menu title not where most of us would look. There are little tabs that one must mouse over to get the drop-down sheet. Check the preferences to view the icons and text in different ways. Also right click on both the icons and the sheet to get other options. It seems you can drag a lot of things to the sheet but must invoke "copy" in the contextual menu (clicking on the icon) and then you can "paste" to use the items in other programs. You are not able to drag them out. You can send individual items to other users on a network as long as they have the program which is nice, however you can not send the complete sheet which would be even nicer. The drawing tools are pretty useless at the moment however if you can send the sheet to others it just may be a feature.

If the developer is listening please clean up the language problems in the menus as well as the contextual menu, it really makes the program appear amateurish.

This could turn into something nice but needs more attention.

The program opened but I have not been able to get a sheet. Also some of the menu is in German (I believe). What would prompted a developer to list their application in such a poor state? Taints all of their other work.

iXiu ReviewBuggy - Features don't work - Version: 1.3, 3/11/2007 12:01AM PST

A nice-looking concept, but it doesn't appear ready for release.
Documentation says that when you double-click on an object, the object will open in the appropriate application. I couldn't get that to work with a text object copied from AppleWorks. Double-clicking did nothing. It didn't open in anything.
I couldn't get the text resize buttons to do anything, nor the transparency buttons. And when I click on the grid button, it both toggles the grid and opens the preferences pane.
The comments option is apparently intended as a label for an object but it only works when hovering over the object. For a text link or a URL, you also can't see the contents unless you hover. So you have a collection of objects with no clue what each one contains until you hover over it. Yet the documentation appears to show that each object is labeled on the panel.
I can't recomment iXiu at this point.
