Altiverb is praised universally by all the audio professionals I know. And that is dozens. No, I don't own it myself, but if I come into some money, I know it is a good choice.

don´t compare it. not with hardware, not with spacedesigner, not with any other plug-in. it is a very special piece of software that sounds fantastic and has the best IRs by far.
i use it since it came out and it never let me down. the people at audio ease are driven maniacs who are fast and friendly. not many companies around that made such an impression on me.

It accurately emulates real spaces using an ever increasing library of Impulse Responses.
The reviewer talking about emulating hardware is utterly clueless..
